According to the publication’s sources, Kushner Companies met last April with Qatari Finance Minister Ali Sharif Al Emadi to try to secure an investment for its troubled property at 666 Fifth Avenue in New York City. The attempt to get money directly from the Qatari government apparently went nowhere, however — and then weeks later Qatar was hit by a massive international blockade. “The failure to broker the deal would be followed only a month later by a Middle Eastern diplomatic row in which Jared Kushner provided critical support to Qatar’s neighbors,” the publication writes. “Led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, a group of Middle Eastern countries, with Kushner’s backing, led a diplomatic assault that culminated in a blockade of Qatar.
