Cold War
Detroit is claiming a 50 year low for 2017. Couldn't find one man on the street to agree. Maybe, Detroiters can take a bullet better than the rest of the country or we are shitty shots.

Take Iowa for example. Murders in small, rural, mostly conservative (Red) parts of the state hardly exist. Virtually all murders occur in the larger "cities" that historically are very Blue. My guess is the same for virtually every state.

Weird. And very convenient. Yes they do. Where did you ever come up with they don't? There are around 33,000 "gun deaths" in the US per year of which over 20,000 are suicide. Your article is from 2013 and matches the numbers below. Now take out some major cities or drug violence and our murder rate by gun is extremely low. The financial and emotional impact of suicide is no different than a murder. Removing suicide from the gun violence equation is a tactic the NRA uses. How convenient it is to dismiss 2/3rds of all gun violence for political reasons.

You’re the one that wants to dismiss suicide, gang, and drug related gun violence. Not me. I think the total stats should be used to show that the easy availability of firearms in American society is a major contributing factor. The other, larger price are non-fatal gunshots. Huge medical expenses.
