  1. Does anybody know if these brake pistons are ok? Do I use scotch Brite on them? Or just put them back in? There was a bunch of dirt behind the piston. Seals seem good.
  2. Does anyone know how to rebuild a brake caliper on a 07 Arctic Cat? Was bleeding the brakes tonight and it was taking a long time. So I have the wife come out and pull the brake lever a bit while I checked it out. Kind of hard to bleed brakes with a leaking caliper piston seal. Little bubbles are coming out around the piston. I have never had a caliper a part on anything and the isn't much information on the internet. Mostly for ATVs.
  3. Sounds like the better option. At least people wouldn't think you "play for both teams" lmao. My brother used ride a 2007 500ss. That thing would keep right up to my 07 600 cfi, get better fuel economy and easier on oil.
  4. That shift is nice. It is on the IQ raw chassis. If it was a 2007-2008 it would have a way fatter front end, fuel tank and seat. In 2009 you got the raw chassis with the dragon sp. In 2010 and up it became more standard across the line up with the exception of the shift in 2010. The IQ raw is much nicer than the fatter IQ. I found my IQ 600 cfi's very easy to start. They both would do around 95-100 mph on the dream-o-meter. Not bad on fuel and oil.
  5. Is that a normal thing? I don't remember how my m8 was and the last Polaris I owned was 5 years ago and it was a 2010 600 switchback
  6. So I couldn't post a video with my phone as it exceeds the file size limit. When you start to here rattling I have the phone close to the engine. I am sorry if this is beginner lessons. I don't have anybody else to ask questions to aside from taking it to a shop lol 20181017_190851_Voice.amr
  7. Ya after I posted and was checking around, I spotted the sensor. I put the air box on. It idles around 1700 which is perfect. But to me it seems to idle weird and the engine makes almost like a rattling noise but I don't know if that is normal or not. I will see if I can attach some videos
  8. Probably a stupid question but is there any consequences in starting up a snowmobile without an air box attached? not going to be driving it just want to make sure that everything's working fine before I put the airbox on and hide everything.
  9. I have tried every which way possible and nothing I do will make them 100%. Is there anything I can do? Are they critical on a cfi engine as they are on a carb?
  10. Shit. I have tried them every which way. Cleaned the surfaces good. I can't find anything wrong .Both reeds have the same issue. Is it a big of a deal on a cfi sled vs a carb? Here is where they are at right now.
  11. Hey Tom, I don't know how to tag so I quoted you lol. I am putting in new reed petals and having a problem. When I test fit the reeds, they fit flat. When I put in the inside reed retainer it pushes the petals open. Is this normal?
  12. I didn't realize McMaster Carr sold to regular people. The only time I even heard of them was at an old job I had in a machine/automation shop and they ordered material from them. Arctic Cat had the bearing in stock, so that was the only upside, no waiting.
  13. Got the brake assembly back in the crossfire tonight. I couldn't believe it, the bearings were $75 each from a bearing supplier and only $55 each from Arctic cat. Not often the stealership is cheaper. My reed pedals came in for the switchback today. So I will be doing that up sometime this week.
  14. I got it all off. The shaft pushed out by hand. I used a hammer and punch to take the nut off. It is a weird 3 piece bearing. I wonder if I will need to go to cat for it or if I can get it from a bearing place.
  15. This is way more than I have ever gotten into on a sled lol.
  16. How does one pull off the brake assembly. I have the dd off. Do I just take off all the nuts on the track side of the bulk head by the caliper and that removes it? Or do I need to pull the two hex head bolts first?
  17. Ok. Just found this gem. Do I need to pull the dd off or is it possible to pull the break assembly of and have room to pull off the drive shaft without moving the dd?
  18. Thank you. Hopefully that is all it is. Noob question, I don't remember if on the secondary clutch you see the shims or not when it is all bolted on?
  19. So I am cleaning up the sleds and getting them ready to go. This is the 2007 crossfire 600 I picked up for the wife. It has 1000 miles on it. There was a pile of carbon on the fouled spark plugs, the exhaust sensor is covered in oil and the picture is of the throttle bodys. According to the guy I bought it off of it was only used as a wife and a young kids sled. It was never really rode on the trails it was more of just a farm sled so probably never really got opened up. Would this cause the excess oil on things or am I looking for a larger issue?
  20. My brother and I have run shell snow ultra full syn oil for about 8 years. He used to run it in his 2007 500ss, I ran it in my 600 cfi's and Suzuki 800. Decent price and not bad smelling. Never once had an issue and power valves never had a carbon issue. Was recommended to us by the local doo dealer years ago.
  21. That sucks. I bought them before I read this. Hopefully I make out ok. It is my first set of boots in about 11 years.
  22. That's my worry as well. I still have a pair of boots at home. So if they go south, I am not screwed. The sales guy was telling me if anything breaks in 7 years, Klim will fix or replace
  23. Interesting. I tried both the GTX regular and the GTX boa at the same time and the boa system seemed to fit better.
