  1. It's a possibility for sure.. But have not have heard of/seen this happen. Usually it's the result of some other issue.
  2. Applies to enclosed trailers as well. Commercial carriers have their own set of cargo secure rules.
  3. Yup.... they'll grasp at anything tp avoid paying.
  4. You can actually register your truck's GVRW lower than what the manufacturer has... but god help you should the MTO weigh you and you're over.
  5. It gets a little confusing.... the total gross weight, registered gross weight (RGW) or manufacturer’s gross vehicle weight rating (MGVWR) of the vehicle exceeds 4,500 kg or 9,920 lbs. the combined weight of the vehicle and towed trailer or converter dolly exceeds 4,500 kg or 9,920 lbs So essentially.... if your tow vehicle's registered weight (check your green registration card) you need that certificate (yellow sticker). If your vehicle has the sticker...your trailer needs one as well. If your loaded trailer and tow vehicle exceed the limits...you need the sticker...
  6. True... plus windows cracked will help vent..... wouldn't want to light up a cig tho! Or...post 01JUL18......
  7. The fine for an insecure load is $160 for regular vehicles or $390 for commercial vehicles. The only $490 fine I can think of is for cell phones. I find it odd that he wouldn't allow a bungee cord unless it was damaged in some way. I've never met a copper that woukd suggest fuel be stored within a cab. But there are a few "different" ones out there.
  8. All cargo, regardless of what it is must be secured in order to prevent it's ejection in normal driving as well as a collision. There ate some pretty specific specifications buried deep in the regulations.. but essentially if you have the following covered, you're good. -front and rear tied down/secured by quick clamps -winch does NOT count as a tie down (ATVs) -loose fuel containers secured in brackets or bungee cords. Fuel stored in approved containers. -all loose items secured in container or some other way to prevent falling off trailer/out of truck bed. -all tie downs, ropes, bungees etc must be in good condition.
  9. Brother just sent me this. Bancroft 2 days ago. BEFORE latest dumping.
  10. Yes trail... I know your love of pot.. The bold is actually an error on my part. I meant "As long as they are NOT hurting anyone". The rest...like I said you will "studies" for and against. Go ahead... smoke as much as you want. I truly do not care..
  11. There is some truth to this statement. Aby of the new offences will most likely be dealt with using a regular ticket. As with anything else there will be a bit of a spike and then it will level out.
  12. We are in a wait/see pattern right now. Just saw a news report that doesn't bode well.. Appears many people with mental health issues are stopping their meds and using pot instead. It seems it has the opposite effect on people with many mental health disorders.. actually increasing paranoia in schizophrenics and other sufferers as well as inducing violence. Police are already inundated with mental health calls. This will not help. Plus the ongoing debate about it's effects on younger brain and creating more mental health issues. That, I've personally seen first hand. Other issues include scientifically derived levels of impairment and how to test for same. There will, of course be lots of comments saying this is all BS with 'studies" to back it up. But for every "pro" study there is a "con" study. Personally.. I do not care what someone does in their own home as long as they are hurting anyone but themselves..
  13. Lmfao!!! Maybe when I'm actually allowed back to work!!!
  14. Spoke to coworkers.. Theyre grooming that area. Trails are fair in most areas. We have had about a foot of new snow past few days and more coming down today... they expect up to 15cm today. about 75% of the latest snow has had good moisture content for better packing. Good cold temps each night as well. As for the lodge... No one seems to know anything.
  15. Between that and his response to wounded veterans....plus all the other stupid stuff. And his inability to speak more then twords without saying: um, ah, err... We really need someone new. Potheads are happy though!!
  16. We got about 15-20cm past couple of days. Most of it big wet, sticky flakes. Lots of fluffy powder this eve. About another 5-10cm so far. Looks like some green and a bit of yellow as well red in the area... Will be LOTS of traffic. I'll see if I can get an actual report from one of my team members.
  17. All of them!! :D. Seriously though good question. I assume with the blue plate it was regidtered as a regular "street bike" and this is a conversion kit? In that case its been heavily modified from the original manufacturers product so there MAY be issues regarding that. And as an actual registered vehicle you are not to travel on the shoulder except in exveptional circumstances. Having said that, off the top of my head I really can't think of any specific laws. I'll bounce of my colleagues and get some feedback.
  18. The trails are showing closed in Maynooth. They're about an hr northwest of me. Right now I have a mostly green lawn. Not sure about the lodge.
  19. Every year have few friends over. 6lb prime rib roast on the BBQ sliced thinly on fresh buns, my homemade version of Lonestar salsa, beer, various chips and dips...

    Lasik

My wife had hers done just over a year ago. Without glasses or contacts she could barely see beyond 2-3ft. She now has crisp clear distance vison Close up (reading) did suffer somewhat. For her, that minor trade off is/was worth it. Lasik MD in Kingston. Around the $4500 mark and zero regrets.
