  1. You are the absolute worst fucking thing there is for the cat brand and your head must still be soft from that high speed wreck on the ice. Where on this chart did cat's 600 win anything or even come close to winning anything out of the crate in the great covid dirt race of 2021.... I'll give you a hint. There would need to be some yellow on there someplace if it did. The Poo 650 smoked everything in the 600 class except for one lucky Doo ET and MPH.
  2. What is a 6 month pause going to achieve? Some sort of miracle world-wide agreement not to create AI that will kill all humans on the planet? An agreement that wouldn't be followed by a single solitary government of our enemies.

Comes as part of the dumstad options pack. Upgraded flat light windscreen, 25MPH throttle limiter and first aid kit. A bargain at $795.

I think chassis evolution has reached it's end. There will be tweaks here and there but there are only so many ways to arrange the triangles. It would be tough and cost a shitload of money to clean sheet an entirely new design and take a flyer on it hoping it is the next great thing for the sport. Sadly, electric sleds may be the last area where major changes can be made to chassis geometry. Getting rid of clutches, belts, chains and all of that shit for a simple direct drive system could allow for more radical chassis designs. I think the charging infrastructure is an almost insurmountable issue for sledding manufacturers to overcome. If dipshitocrats continue to be in control I guess anything can be overcome by applying massive amounts of taxpayer dollars to it.

Catalyst will win all three SOTY awards and sweep every podium in every type of race there is in 24. Poo and Doo have no chance. Once that 600, with an 800 crank, hits production state even the turbo 850's will get shown what's what. So fast and powerful textron will scrap any idea of ever needing to launch a big bore option. So fast dumstad will crack his brainless melon once again riding across a wide open lake with nothing else around him. This time at hyper speeds exceeding 30mph.
  6. If that same team puts wings and jet engine on a catalyst chassis just imagine what the fucking thing might do!
  7. "spiled" sums it up about right.
  8. "cloudiness sky's." Maybe get checked for a concussion. Scratch that. Just looked it up. You need a brain in order to get a concussion.
  9. Pretty sure if he had an alpha he could get to the top of Everest.
  10. I wouldn't be interested but how could you tell with his helmet on???

Completely agree that when the engine options are there and the reliability of the platform overall becomes a complete non-factor the belt drive will be a nice to have feature. If these things become reality I will be a buyer again but I would hope the dealer network issue/s get resolved prior to. At the moment I have 3 possible dealers to purchase from and they carry every brand but cat right now. One option to fix that would be if Yamaha gets the new chassis.

At least you admit you haven't ridden one. Anyone who has ridden doo or poo for years on different iterations of rider forward chassis' knows the catalyst will not be a game changer and those that have ridden it and can actually compare it to the others have been saying exactly that. Belt drive is not going to make it radically different. Laydown engine and centering the mass (even if it turns out to be a bit more than poo or doo) is not going to make it radically different for the average trail rider. The catalyst may eventually work out to be a better option for riders that own the other brands. It's clear that for now it's the best option for existing cat owners that want a rider forward design. The other shit, belt drive, composite running boards is shit for now that will have zero bearing on changing brands.

Good review and definitely says what everyone else already on rider forward chassis' know is that this is catching up not changing the game. Is the belt better than a chain? Only time will tell and that's just another hurdle to get over. That's going to take thousands of sleds in owner's hands for thousands of miles before anyone will really know. It's definitely an advantage over having to change oil. Cat will sell all that they are able to make for next season because there is just a ton of pent up demand within the cat faithful. Hopefully next year brings an expanded lineup with additional engine options.
  14. This when a stock Poo 650 is already close to 140HP. As for power in the mountains. Who the fuck is buying a 600 to aftermarket turbo when you can just buy a factory turbo 850? Because you want less power on the mountains? Just fucking stupid any way you look at it.
  15. Well, cat even calls it a 125 class 600. Other than dumstad who gives two shits what some "media guy" says his butt dyno was reading? Have more invested than the cost of an 850 to turbo a fucking 600 and then only have slightly more HP than a stock Poo 650? I guess some idiots would be that fucking dumb.
  16. He did, he just didn't realize it.
  17. I was expecting them to release it at least 5 years ago and with more than just a 600 so that by now it would be re-worked for the 998T. What do you think they should have done? Waited another 10 years?
  18. Would have been nice if that amazing used cat resale value was around when I sold mine. It was terrible. Resale on any of the used Doo's I sold over the past decade and a half was far better. Just to be clear, I have no interest in dick....
  19. You call it hating, I call it simply wanting them to do better. I want more choices in the market not less. For fuck sake some people just want nothing but cheerleading for their favorite brand. None of the manufacturers pay me to ride their shit and when I spend my hard earned cash on their shit I want it to meet a certain standard. Something cat has not been able to do for a really long time. You keep cheering them on, riding the old stuff and reminiscing about the good old days. I have a lot of memories of the good old days riding my cats and I want them to build something modern, new and up to par quality wise so that I might ride one again some day. The catalyst is a good START, but far from a finish and enough for everyone in TRF or Georgia to be slapping each other on the back and calling it good enough.
  20. Sorry, but the fact is they have been sitting on their hands otherwise it would not have taken them over a decade to launch the catalyst. There is nothing earth shattering about the catalyst, nothing that could not have been done 5 or six or 7 years ago. Not a revolutionary design, not even a revolutionary engine to go with the me too chassis. Cat is lucky to have diehard fans of the brand that will accept whatever it is they bring to the table and make it work for them. But the number has dwindled significantly at this point. Those you call haters of cat are actually just as fanatical about the sport they are just not willing to spend their hard earned cash on a single brand no matter how shitty the product actually is. Cat will only succeed if they can bring these fans back. Riders of the brand that are just riding the old stuff and not buying new do jack shit to keep the brand in business. That's Cats real problem that needs to be solved.
  21. Can't be. Dumstad says procross is perfect in every way. No need to change a single thing. Hard for me to believe cat fucked up by designing the catalyst.
  22. Yeah, she was an excellent speaker. They are shuffling her to another dead end where they can show how diverse the company is.
  23. Dumstad throwing his hat in the ring? They probably need some gravel work around the plant. Getting that straightened out is likely more productive than what she was able to accomplish over the last two years.
  24. Proven in racing? What does that mean? Have they run a race that lasted to infinity? If so I missed that one. News flash dumstad, race sleds have an entirely different maintenance schedule than trail sleds. Who knows, maybe they actually do run that belt an entire season without changing it. Even if they do that's not infinite but I do understand how you wouldn't get this.
