So guys really seem to like the 129, but I'm wondering after seeing a few reviews if I'll still be disappointed in the lack weight transfer. The current benchmark for me is my buddy's 2023 XC 850. That thing is a wheelie machine if you want it to be but rails if you want it to...just depends on where your weight is. I get that in a racing scenario you want the skis planted at all times...but that's not what I want out of a machine for everyday riding.

I always laugh during early and late season riding when water holes are open, you'll pull up to a lunch spot and the Cat's always have the muddiest front ends because you cannot loft the skis over the water holes lol.

have noticed similar traits with the RXC... but also haven't monkeyed with the rear blocks on it.

if there's anyone here who I trust to compare the Procross to the Catalyst... it's Taper.  ;)

ERX again... will be there tomorrow night.

BIG changeup... Pro-Lite, then Pro 3X Crown format... and CLOCKWISE track orientation

    Good looking track...

    ProL H1

Scheele / Lundqvist / Daudt - Bester, Pake and ?  got in a tangle chasing down Anson but were coming hard for him.

    ProL H2

Ogemar / Kirchmeyer / Posti - snowbike champ stepping it up... and watch this Posti kid

    ProL H3

Lebel / Salomonsson / Wittwer - Jordan checked out from the hole shot and then it was a race for 2nd

Pro Triple Crown which apparently gives too much power of the wand to our resident tech inspector because the racers can switch from primary to secondary sled.  Three eight minute +1lap heats... should be interesting.  This is (imo) fixing a quickly dwindling Pro field due to injuries.

    Pro H1

Harr / Pelletier / Benham - AP3 was leading and something broke - Emil was absolutely on fire coming through the pack, great lines!  Polaris sleds are NOT down on power this year in the ole IQR.  and, idk wtf is wrong with Scheuring not being able to keep their mag side body panel on Hunters sled?  maybe I'll take some zip ties along tomorrow...

    ProL H4

    Downs / Lundqvist / Christian

    ProL H5

Ogemar / Forst / Posti  - Anson (4th) in the hunt and went off the track, so did Lebel (9th) -  possibly clockwise funk

    ProL L H6

Bester / Salomonsson / Ashline - Snowbike man 42 had a good run and is getting better

    Pro H2

Aki / Elias / Francis - Harr 4th after a bad start.  Pro Class is a bit of a shit show this year, but still very competitive and fun to watch.

    ProL Final

Daudt / Lebel / Ogemar - Daudt is the first to beat Lebel this season, great job.

    Pro H3

Harr / Peterson / Kamm - all Polaris - Harr had a great night

Pro Final Results - based on Total Points from Triple Crown

    Harr / Franc / Aki

I've got to say this 4 stroke was better than I thought.  Don't have the typical heavey front end feel and handles as good as any 2 stroke.  The electric throttle took a little to get use to but has a shorter throw and light feel.  Took 3/4 of a gallon less on fuel the an 850 over 80 miles.  It your looking for a 0 to 70 MPH sled would consider one.  Wife put on 112 miles and likes it.

interesting... not something I want for myself but down the road I can possibly see a simple 4S in the stable.

In space, where there's enough room to run them and gravity takes them from 660lbs to 590lbs!

I just think it's weird... like are all these TCat/SRX, MachZ, VR1 turbo owners are out just hunting people down on their 2S big bores all the time and passing them like they're standing still... It's comical if you actually think about it.

    Ego...

Because people like you keep pretending the Sidewinder doesn't slaughter everyone on high speed trails and when modded is absolutely untouchable.

Precisely where are these trails where people are getting slaughtered by turbo Yamacats?

Sounds like some sort of fantasy... is this like some unsanctioned race where egos get crushed along with dreams?

  7. 💡 maybe that's part of the problem with this sport... sleds are too comfortable and reliable in turn making snowmobiling more enjoyable for the IDIOTS of society to join in the fun.  when I was a kid... if you didn't know how to work on your sled you likely didn't do very much riding.

No 90 mile rides on those for me anymore.  We just sold the last of our vintage machines a couple weeks ago.  79' 5500.  503cc of air cooled awesome.  I could definitely ride it down the road and back or across the fields but on the trails?  I would be laid up for a few weeks recovering.  Messed my back up several years ago and if not for modern suspensions sledding wouldn't even be in the cards anymore.

Looking at the machines we used to ride is great nostalgia though.  Mostly for the stories surrounding those rides.

    and inevitable break downs...

And I'm sure doo sends their managers in too on the yellow 120/200 days. The factory is like an open gym basketball court. Whoever has next gets to run the plant that day and make their sleds.

They don't assemble.  They just watch the Cat employees assemble the cats before they have the Yamaha transitioning blue plastics put on.

Racist much? Yamaha Employees do not have to be Japanese the last I checked.

Blazing Saddles is my favorite movie... 🤔

Tell us more about the Yamaha employees that assemble Yamahas on Cat's assembly line ... :lol2:

Yamaha has their own people there watching the line when the Yamaha's are on it. Cat and Yamaha are separate companies using the same line to build there sleds. I am not going to argue it.

do they bring in an entire shift of Japanese Yamaha employees to put the stickers on the exact same (not blue) sleds Cat sells?     🤔

I think the 3 sleds I've had that have drawn the most attention at trailside stops were the 02 Sno Pro (Firecat), 08 SnoPro, and 81 Trailcat.

I'd wander over for a look at those.  The 720 gets a little attention on occasion... probably because of the ice fisherman special windshield.

Breaking News From Blue Balls Business Insider:

Arctic Cat and Yamaha have agreed to a new contract in which Arctic Cat will supply Yamaha with the Catalyst chassis. Yamaha are free to tweak and update the chassis however they see fit and are planning on releasing a 933cc Triple 2-Stroke Turbo with ball juice injected cooling systems to keep the Turbo spinning quality blue ball juice up to 50,000 feet above sea level!

    I don't believe you

My friends and I always discuss the unique or super common but old sleds we see out riding.

Another 850 Polaris or Doo?  Yawn

The Doo that raced the Iron Dog or the group of 2 dozen 90's Polaris or the guys out on the old leafers?  That is interesting to me.

My RXC's draw comments either about the blue skis or the seat.  Usually the seat.

The seat is cut that way as a place to park your enormous testes.

Who the heck is buying a Yamaha still?  Why?  Only possible reason I can think of is they have a Yamaha dealer next door that they like.  But they still won't have the experience servicing them that a normal dealer would and probably DGAF.

Why does Yamaha keep pretending they're still in the game anyway?  It's kind of sad and pathetic just make a silent exit and nobody will even notice

the Yamaha dealer over here does quite well.  those big farm boys over 300lbs love the big 4S turbos for racing across potato fields.  @Badger** can attest to that.
