  5. The new VP is a "Question Asker" LOL. What is that thing? Heidi that would be a snowmobile. Oh never seen one before. What does it do? Heidi it rides on snowmobile trails, out on lakes, in the mountains we even use to race them. Oh. Who makes them?
  6. Hope it works out for just you just don't ask to many questions. I broke some bones in my hand in 2011 late November. I come home with a wrist brace and fingers taped to gather. First thing I get asked is what did the doctor say about snowmobiling. I said he didn't say anthing. Next question was did you ask? Answer "Nope"
  7. Summer part time job for Sunoco at nascar races.
  8. Told this story before the last time I had one of these sleds out was a 1985 Indy 600 with and SLP RZ 700 motor. Ran into some guys I ride with and put on just under 200 miles that day. Sled ran great all day but I couldn't wait to get off of it. I'll take the current sleds to ride any day over the old iron.
  9. I'm probably one of those guys. I've got sleds I haven't ridden in 4-5 years. On the other hand some sleds that I have restored and sold I've made very good money off of them and even better selling NOS parts to guys restoring sleds. Still put on 3000 to 4000 miles a year.on current sleds, have some limited built sleds I just like to have and a fun hobby when I want restoring sleds or searching and selling parts.
  10. Ramstad got banned LOL. Maybe him and Crazy Joe can team up now
  11. Big Bore aftermarket bolt in motors from 1991. Wonder how many are still out there?

Looks like life is rough being Joe's boyfriend for him.
  13. Joe's creating his little private safe place with his selected munchkins.
  14. There lies the problem. I'd like to see Arctic Cat make it and bring new products and ideas to the sport. Would also like Yamaha to come out with their own chassis and up grades in the motor department. Competition is good and if we only end up with 2 players that's not good for the sport.
  15. As far as dealers a friend bleeds green and also has a business working relationship with his sled dealer. It was the dealer that told him not to buy a new Thundercat last year because he was not sure how long they're going to be around so he bought a new Doo. This year his wife's sled is also a new Doo on order.
  16. Had my 1985 Indy 600 SE home couple years ago and it was a nice Sunday knowing my buddy just got done grooming our trails so figured I take it for a ride since it been a while. By chance meet some guys i ride with and ended up putting on 180+ miles. I didn't want to even see that sled for a while. 20-30 miles fun any more not.
  17. Once you start getting into the vintage sleds it a lot of fun hunting for sleds and parts. I had 13 sleds awhile back and was lucky enough that a buddy of mine his dad owned a warehouse and I had free storage. He sold the warehouse so now I have 6 included my trail sleds. Also do some poking around at the older dealerships. Two that I have close tights to I bought all their old inventory parts 95 and older at different times. Kept what I wanted and sold what I didn't want.
  18. Not so much the Max-4 but the SRX 340 yes. One year only I believe 1976. There was one years ago at radar runs that gave me fits.
  19. After the 1981 redesign of the 1982 Yamaha SRX was back with improvements in the motor with a 500CC and clutching...maybe. It was found to be even more finicky with rumored crank problems and exploding clutches. The 1982 SR-V had a one year only Yamaha design clutch. Yamaha made the decision to have the sleds returned that were already shipped out to dealers. Some sleds actually were sold to customers and are very rare, others had the motor pulled and were sold as a rolling chassis the rest were returned and destroyed.
  20. When Arctic Cat snowmobiles came back into the sport in 1984 they seemed to work their way to a level to stand on their own. Seems rather shaky right now. Was it leadership, lose of what the market wanted, lack of new product development or other issues?
  21. 3 guys I work with at my real job used to own the local Yamaha dealership and I help out at night. One SRX 500 had the motor pulled and sold as a roller the other one went back complete. Never know what happened to the roller after the guy picked it up. They were a nice looking sleds.
  22. 1982 SRX 500. Some actually got sold with the 500, some had the motor pulled and sold as a roller others went back complete.
  23. In 1981 Yamaha did a complete redesign of the SRX. Sharp looking sled with swing down side panels. Forty plus years later we have removable side panels. Respectable performance but was finicky to tune still using butterfly carbs.
