  1. Ok. What specifically is engineered differently? Both systems uses 2 sprockets and a belt? Does cat use a tensioner? Is the steering system just a rack style steering simiiar to polaris? Is there something with the system new and unique? Or is it just marketing verbage cat uses to compare it against procross sleds?
  2. Could you describe what car did differently with the belt drive vs polaris that makes it ground breaking? Could you describe the progressive steering system? What is with this system thats ground breaking over competitor designs? If you can't answer those questions then, to me, it appears you are just regurgitating cats marketing dept.
  3. So if cat doesn't capture 20% market share this year is the catalyst considered a flop? I read alot in here from a couple guys that catalyst is the future and poo and doo have next to nothing that any consumer is excited about and cat is stealing other brands customers. Is 20% market reasonable for cat to grab this year? What % share does poo and doo loose to cat this year?
  4. That had to be a painfully long slow day. Starrting When my oldest was 4yo he'd ride his 120 behind me and we'd ride the 3.5 miles to my moms for coffee on random wknd days. It took alot of patience! I cant imagine trying to do 20 miles at once with a 120 and a 3 yr old.
  5. I wish cat the best with catalyst. If you remove emotion and read what I wrote about belt noise and packaging you will see these are valid detractors from a current production belt drive system thats been around since 2013. Cat could have a better solution, we will see in time. More of a concern than noise, for me, is how much room it MIGHT take up in the footwell area?
  6. I'll reserve final judgement until these units are built in the masses and in the hands of many vs a few. Right now there's alot of buzz around it due to many yrs of nothing new. Thats expected, 1 yr from now we will know how the whole sled actually works and have real world consumer feedback
  7. Having owned belt drive rmks and chaincase trail sleds ill say the belt is a nosier system. It also will take up footwell space if its packaged in the toe hold area and not forward of it such as on an rmk. Am curious to see cats solution to these known detractors on poos belt drive.
  8. I bet its a weber based engine of some sort...you know, the company textron bought that used to provide polaris with their snowmobile 4 stroke engines back in 2006.
  9. If I had unlimited time I could find several threads where cat owners ragged on poo for having a playful chassis that can lift the skis by leaning back or corner flat by leaning forward. Lots of banter past few yrs from poo crew about how procross was boring to ride and how cat crew said poos were dangerous cuz you could change the sleds attitude by moving around on the sled a bit. Many cat owners feared being able to lean side to side or forward and backward to get the sled to move with the rider....until catalyst. Edit- poo crew used analogy of influincing the sled like a dirtbike. Cat crew said thats bad and that couches aren't responsive like that so their sleds shouldn't be either
  10. 137 Vr1 is the exact sled i own and have owned since 2021. Again, no issues with inside ski lift
  11. Wow, I must be special along with my 5 riding buddies who all are on axys or matryx sleds. We don't have issues with inside ski lift on them. Back when we rode the pro ride stuff though it was an annoyance in some situations
  12. Oh snap! This is about as bad as when cats marketing material for the 2018 alpha 1 mirrored poos 2013 marketing material for the pro rmk. Cats images of how the alpha works on a side hill were near identical to poos images from About 8 yrs earlier. IMO cat needs to stop chasing poo for sales and set its eyes on doo.
  13. Haven't seen any poo owner ever say flat cornering was bad or stupid. Have seen a few cat diehards bag on poo for having a playful chassis that can lift skis by leaning back or corner flat by leaning forward tho....you know, by moving your body around and In turn influencing the sleds manners.
  14. Wait until the cat faithful brag how playful the new chassis is and how your body position can influence the sleds manners. You know, the same thing they've been saying is stupid in regards to any polaris since 2010
  15. I fucking love reading these threads
  16. Too bad the cat greats that initially started the development of this were either canned or left due to textron. This sled will not be released as what was originally intended to be by the guys that started this program. I wish cat/textron luck but don't have much faith
  17. Yamaha argo partnership rumor seems like it could be legit. The 23 cat sled has been butchered down By textron so much that most of the brains behind it are jumping ship....the sled that will be released will not be what the cat greats had intended
  18. Another bad day for acat...Joey Hallstrom has left to work at argo. How are the cat faithful gonna spin this news?
  19. Oh my, ive been around atvs for 28 years and I recall once in my life someone bragging about buying a cat atv...that was a cat brand loyal buddy who bought a Thundercat around 2008 or so...he quickly changed his tune and bought a polaris 850 xp a couple yrs later and has since only owned polaris dirt products while staying loyal to cat snow product....until 2020 when he switched to a polaris 850 xc.
  20. If you were referring to a front suspension id agree, however this is the rear suspension and no ball joints to my knowledge as the rear wheels aren't steerable. By mounting the shock on the upper arm it requires a beefier upper arm as well as a beefy lower arm (rock hits etc). A longer shock generally means a better ride, longer shock stroke etc. This whole atv is laid out very odd by using the wildcat transaxle forcing the positioning of the engine rearward. I'm curious of any other serious off road machine that mounts the rear shock to the upper arm?
  21. You do.realize the new alternative 600 rear suspension shocks are on the upper control arms? I can't think of any other best in class atv thats mounts the rear shocks this way. This is completely a cost sensitive move on textrons part, made for low cost, not for performance or best in class ride and handling.
  22. I predict a "me too" quick accessory add on similar to the lock and ride flex from polaris and linq from doo
  23. 850 miles on my 21 650 vr1 and it fouled 3 sets of plugs during break in, been good since. I blame it on my 11yo son taking it for short rips around the yard, everytime a plug fouled was during warmup after he rode it last
  24. Not his, possibly others. Its definitely in a climate controlled 24hr surveillance bomb proof building getting personally checked on by security every hour.....his dealer says so
