  1. So the old cat was bad? And those loyal before textron shouldn't have been? Trying to understand your logic here. What is it that makes or made cat what it is or was? The people, culture, management, the building, the town? Genuinely curious your thoughts here. It's definitely a different company now than what it used to be. So are both versions good? If so. What makes that so?
  2. Hope they retained some of the good old boys from the pre textron days. Probably not tho. Really isn't much left of the old cat as far as people and culture
  3. So, in fact, if it wasnt a production VIN #ed 2011 it couldn't even race...and poo didn't make a 2011 switchback rush....
  4. It's a belt drive system similiar to poos. Contrary to your belief and the marketing hype around it, it's nothing special. Parts will and do fail. Cat isn't using some secret belt material or sprocket tooth geometry here and surely their suppliers are only capable of the same machine tolerances for the bearing bores in which controls the center to center distances and alignment of said sprockets. Don't be an ignorant fool here and continue to believe that these are indestructible and somehow whisper quiet. Any gates poly chain used in any application or industry is capable of failing.
  5. Iron dog follows ISR rules. No way cat, doo and yammi would have allowed prototype poos to compete and win without raising an issue and getting the team DQ'ed. The pics you provided of the finish line are proof enought they they aren't the switchbacks
  6. Based on the rear torque arm location relative to the rear of the seat those sure appear to be the shorty 121 rushes...
  7. So iron dog allows proto sleds to run? Don't they have to meet stock class rules?
  8. I dont think there was 2011 switchbacks in the rush body work like shown in the article from March 2011

  10. Any reports of belt whine on the catalyst yet? I recall bringing this up last year and stinkipinki and jimwit ensured me that cat is light years ahead of poos belt drive system and it would be quieter than the chain drive. So curious of those 2 geniuses were correct? I seen a couple videos of catalyst now and it sure sounds like ou can hear the belt whine?? Can anyone verify?
  11. https://www.snowest.com/2019/09/clearing-the-air-on-arctic It's in the article
  12. Which is funny because isn't Donna Beadle the cat marketing lady? The same Donna Beadle who used to be in charge of marketing at polaris?
  13. Curious if you or ACAT thinks they are still adding 5500 sleds to their build next yr? With winter weather like this, not to mention other factors such as economy and interest rates, I can't imagine it would be a good financial decision, can you?
  14. This is thru dairlyland insurance. 1st time I've went thru them but friends have had used them in the past and my agent recommended them as well. In comparison Progressive was $628/ yr for both sleds and Auto owners was 706.38/yr.
  15. Not sure what I'm doing right or wrong but my sled insurance just renewed 2 weeks ago.... 2022 assault 650 was $128/yr 2022 850 vr1 137 was $134.60 **edit** I'm 42 yrs old
  16. This makes zero sense. Ramstad has been very vocal about how cat makes the best utility and sport sxs vehicles and ATV'S and how the catalyst exceeded customer orders so much so they couldn't build enough of them fast enough. Someone's full of shit here...hopefully Jim can come in and clarify how textrons financial team has it all wrong about this and can help them get the ship righted

  18. Does it matter how many they sell? They are right up there with arctic cat status of being like a Bugatti or McLaren so I don't think sale numbers really matter to them🤣🤣
  19. These comments caught my attention as I was certain polaris teams won with a baler. A quick search proved so. As far back as 2011 they won with a rush. Pretty certain a baler also won In the years of 2014, 2015 and 2018
  20. So those aren't consumer model sleds that anyone could buy at a dealer? Edit* what makes these models different than a consumer cat 600, engine wise?
  21. I searched marketplace quick...I think i looked at maybe 10 cat 6000 series sleds...found these 4 in a matter of a minute, maybe 2
  22. You honestly don't see the irony that the catalyst front suspension engineer helped develop the iq front suspension for polaris and how cat adopted a similar geometry on the procross? And that cat guys on here always mention how cat introduced dual a arms to the industry 1st yet they adopted a similiar design to poos and even hired poos old suspension engineer? You also do realize alot of the back and fourth is in good fun? And happens from cat guy, poo guy, and doo guys...we all do it.
  23. I watched the suspension video, I found it amusing the front suspension engineer is an ex polaris employee who is on the front suspension patent for the variable caster triangulatd a arm front suspension polaris came out with in 05. He talks about how great it is....oh and how they moved the upper control arm down 2 inches on catalyst.....
  24. This is nothing. Wait until the new sleds that those ex employees developed for cat get into production this fall and get into consumer hands.
  25. looks like another alterra recall was posted this week...
