  1. Watched a great video on this last night. This is the legacy the Obama admin left the country. Aligned with the media their policies were shit so they increased the "culture war" in the country. This was a deliberate effort by a political party in alignment with media to create division in our country. Its crazy how much it increased since I was in HS or college. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/feb/26/media-news-article-shift-discourse-language Analyzing 27m news articles published in 47 popular news media outlets between 1970 and 2019, we find that there was a rapid uptick in the use of words related to prejudice and discrimination beginning in the early 2010s. These shifts occurred in left- and right-leaning media alike. Moreover, the changes are not limited to print media. Using data from the Stanford Cable TV News Analyzer, we found that the major shifts observed in print media seem to have been mirrored in television news coverage as well. Just as striking as the magnitude of the shifts is when they occurred. The attitudinal and discursive changes don’t seem to be a response to anything in particular. For instance, given that the shifts became increasingly pronounced in 2012, one might assume they are straightforwardly a response to the killing of Trayvon Martin. However, it is harder to explain why we see similar changes in discussion and public attitudes with respect to sexism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia and antisemitism – all at roughly the same time as we observe the spikes related to race. The shifts with respect to sexism and misogyny, for instance, were not a response to #MeToo. They preceded the emergence of #MeToo by a few years, and may help explain why the movement was able to achieve the impact it did – why it was able to find such a receptive audience when previous efforts to elevate the issues of sexual violence, harassment and discrimination were less able to gain traction. Even Google's AI recognized it. Based on analysis of news articles from popular news outlets, the use of the words "racist" and "racism" increased significantly since 2012. For instance, The New York Times saw an increase of over 400% in the use of these terms since 2012. Data also shows a substantial increase in the usage of "racism" and its variations in news articles between 2011 and 2019, specifically in The New York Times and The Washington Post. One source suggests that this increase wasn't because sexism and racism had increased by 400% since 2012, but rather because the media's use of these terms had increased.
  2. Honestly I think is a stupid idea. Close to $200 billion for something I just don't feel there is enough of a threat for. Just a boondoggle for the MIC.
  3. The maturity level in here never ceases to amaze. Grown ass men acting like school aged shitheads.
  4. Oh for Christs sake. I'd bet its far greater than 1 in 5. Who in their right mind personally owns a farm these days and hasn't incorporated it in some manner. The Tribune analyzed over 3.7 million acres of farmland in 10 counties with the most fertile soils, highest cash rents in 2024 and available historical data. It found that over 1 in 5 acres are owned by business entities — organizations with LLC, Inc, LTD, Co., Corp, LP and LLP tags
  5. Fuck you are a child. Thought you only responded to attacks? You like to post now not quoting like somehow being sneaky.
  6. You guys think Zelenskyy was telling the Biden admin about attacks. Why would they tell the US? Its not our war. Its also highly likely we know everything they do thru intelligence and don't need to be "told."
  7. Liar....Trump and Trump supporters.
  8. Really? That's the only solution? Voting or supporting like minded people isn't an option you moron.
  9. Man you are a mindless believer in govt. MClite.
  10. I absofucklutely hate parts of our govt....you don't? Holy shit man what the fuck happened to you as you got older?
  11. Sorry but there is no fixing things in govt anymore. Its only up to the courts what can and can't be done.
  12. Didn't say that in the slightest and you are crossing over defense and the IC. Again govt needs to have some secrets but illegal activities shouldn't be kept from the public....quite the contrary and human experimentations I'd say fall under illegal activities. How long should the govt be able to hide things such as warrantless spying on American's? Problem with SETEC Astronomy is what we have now. An IC that one of the most powerful Senators in US history goes on a national news program and says "Let me tell you, if you go after the intelligence community they have six ways to Sunday to get back at you." That is an IC that has become too powerful and is out of control and more than hints that groups that constitutionally fall under the executive branch now think they don't. You OK with the Vault 7 program where they could watch and listen to you on your devices without your knowledge? Public knowledge keeps that in check. Your stance on this is not surprising.
  13. Little over a month before the assassination. Be curious how long before the trip Kennedy's route was announced in Dallas that day.
  14. Again......up to a point especially when they did things illegal or abused their mandate. Do you think the public deserved to know about things like the MK Ultra project?
  15. Ditto.
  16. The CIA and rest of the IC obviously must keep some things from the public at least for some portion of time however at some point that should change except for possibly sources and methods. This doesn't excuse the CIA if they really obstructed the investigation into the assassination of the President. I still think Oswald was an CIA asset that likely went rogue and killed Kennedy. I can see why they would want that secret but it shouldn't be. The American public deserves to know. Heck the FBI was burning files they had on him. Public deserves to know why.
  17. Yep...my mom passed away on a Sunday afternoon and they (Hospice and the facility) were letting them know that day. However considering the archaic nature of some of the federal govt record keeping it doesn't surprise me. It also doesn't surprise me if someone had been reported passed away and even years later someone started using that number and they just re-alived them so to speak. No checks and balances on so many Federal programs. Oversight has been relegated to public shows on the hill trying to grill the other party. Both sides are guilty of this.
  18. Wasn't that far fetched that older still on the books act was used. I made that very clear as to why.
  19. Pretty sure its more than "the admin just told us." And as I've stated numerous times in the Garcia case a immigration judge ruled he was likely MS-13. You do understand in immigration proceedings the level of proof for things like if they are in a gang is far less than in a criminal trial. Without an expedited removal process we won't be able to make a nick in it and the laws on the books at least the ERP they technically don't go to court but an hearing with an immigration official then bye bye. They don't get a long drawn out appeals process all with lawyers on the taxpayers dime.
  20. I don't care what you call it. It was on the books and I applaud the effort to remove people who care here illegally.....especially when they were criminals in another country or known gang members here. The last highly publicized group was just that. Let me ask you this....should a POTUS or admin not try to do one of the biggest campaign promises? Are you against removing illegals?
  21. FFS man....I can't tell if you are this fucking dumb or the bias has rotted your brain. EXPEDITED REMOVAL IS FOR PEOPLE HERE ILLEGALLY FOR 2 YEARS! THE ALIEN ENIMIES ACT DOES NOT HAVE A TIME LIMIT. BIDEN STARTED LETTING PEOPLE IN BY THE MILLIONS OVER 4 YEARS AGO NOW. TRUMP PLEDGED DURING THE CAMPAIGN THEY WOULD GO AFTER THESE GANG MEMBERS. ITS PART OF THE REASON THEY DECLARED THEM TERRORISTS ORGANIZATIONS. EVER HEARD OF THE WAR ON TERROR? THINK ISIS MEMBERS WHO SNUCK IN 3.5 YEARS AGO BUT NEVER COMMITTED A CRIME YET SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO BE DEPORTED UNDER THIS RULE? ITS COMPLETELY RATIONAL TO ANYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN WHY THEY USED THAT ACT ON THE TIME ISSUE ALONE.
