  1. Not yet. Tulsi was out a long time ago....she just didn't realize it. She just was playing her cards to get into the administration somewhere. She very well could be Biden's pick for VP.
  2. Yeah that's tough to compare over a lifetime. My state effective tax rate is generally over 7%. We also have a 7% sales tax in this county. Its a bit higher in other surrounding counties.
  3. Agreed. My comments were on a retired couple with things paid off. Not a family living on that.
  4. What's your state income tax? That's more than I pay for my house (which is large), 4100 square foot steel building, 24x24 ft cabin and 280 acres.
  5. Dude, 30+ people work on my factory floor. I know people. I know the ones that don't contribute to their 401K's. I know who is overspending. Trust me. I've done it myself.
  6. Keep in mind I'm looking at it from a perspective where you have some things paid off (home, cars) and live in an area where property taxes aren't killer. A very nice $300K home in my area wouldn't have $200 a month property taxes. I can see living in an apartment or having high property taxes and med expenses draining it quickly. Without question where you live makes a huge difference.
  7. Comes down to spending and priorities. $4000 a month goes a good ways. If you spend less on new clothes and cars you can travel and go out to eat more. Nobody is claiming that $4000 a month in retirement is living high off the hog but it can make for a very comfortable retirement if managed properly.
  8. $4K after taxes and most large items paid off is NOT living in poverty. Jesus where do you guys live an what do you spend a month.
  9. You are wrong. People can save. They just need to limit their spending. I do agree in higher COL area's than mine it would be much, much more difficult. Have you ever listened to a second of Dave Ramsey's show? Amazing what people can do when they put their mind to it.
  10. Let them fail and re-organize under better management. Boeing isn't in trouble because of the Coronavirus. Boeing is in trouble because it was poorly managed and went into this in a very weak position. Their failures on the 737 Max are all on their own. There is not one of us that this won't impact financially. Those that go into it prepared will come out fine. Those that were in trouble or living on the financial edge won't. We can't bail out everyone. Prop up the systems in place like UI and other programs.
  11. Come on Ben....they are not all victims. Most people working a decent job could easily have a couple months raining day fund set aside. If you are laid off you should be eligible for unemployment. Maybe and I mean maybe a bit to cover the gap between the difference in UE wages and actual but the govt doesn't need to take care of everyone wholesale. Oh and FUCK CHINA. We need to make them fucking pay for this.
  12. I have operational insurance for things that most likely could devastate my operations. Fire, tornado's are the main but it might even cover something like this. I think its pretty short sighted if the travel industry hasn't been able to predict something like this massively impacting their operations....especially the cruise line industry. Maybe they can't get insured because of all the issues they've had in the past but maybe that's an indication of an industry that just can't work. Basically like Amtrak.
  13. Obstruction of congress. Abuse of power. (Now they want him to yield it like a king) Judge Kavanaugh showed me his penis in college.
  14. Honestly my small community looks relatively unchanged. Few less people at the local convenience stores but grocery store parking lot is normal, virtually all business besides bars and restaurants are operating as normal. (knocks on wood) not one confirmed case in this county or the 4-5 around it....yet.
  15. A balanced diet should get you what you need but in times like this nothing wrong with a simple highly rated multi-vitamin.
  16. Don't forget Probiotics. Much of our immune system is in our gut. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4006993/
  17. Yep. Let them fail and re-organize. The focus of aid should be in the mechanisms ALREADY in place.
  18. Vitamin D too if you can't get outside as much as normal. Been overcast all damn winter too.
  19. Bullshit. It came from China. China is responsible for a huge amount of its spread. I highly doubt China is yet cooperating to the level a normal country would. Most virus' get their name from the location or region they come from or where the first outbreak was discovered. Ebola, MERS. Ever hear of the NoroVirus? It kills 200,000 people worldwide each year. Its named after Norwalk, Ohio where an outbreak occured in 1968. Nobody cries about its name.
  20. No I just expected it. They all have an agenda Vince. Did you miss CNN and MSNBC move to create a racial issue out of this?
  21. Thats rich. CNN talking about a changing narrative on Coronavirus. For weeks they called it the China oe Wuhan coronavirus and now are being critical of Trump for doing it.
