  1. Nice job on the restoration! As I recall it was amazing those sleds moved forward because the track lugs were maybe a 1/4" LOL
  2. Well it appears that most folks on welfare have a job or jobs, now what?
  3. My Dad rented 1969 Mercury 220's, technically the first sled I rode was a 69 Ariens as that is what my Dad first started to rent but they all broke down the first day of use, the dealer took them back and a deal was done for the Mercs. The first sled I bought and owned was a used 77 Yamaha Exciter I bought in 1984. Look I'm wearing a Yamaha jacket LOL
  4. That's what I'm talking about Jim, these same guys are also saying how bad things are yet it sounds like there life is good, WTF is up with that?

  11. The democrats and the UN were presented with intelligence reports that were heavily massaged to get us into an Iraq war that the Bush neo-cons lusted for.
  12. Well now that big oil is buying into the climate change thing do you think that your thoughts of climate change being false might change now? The whole story is at the link, European oil companies have come to grips with the idea that the energy business is going to change because of climate change, and now investors are demanding that Exxon does something before it becomes the next Kodak.

  14. Damn Ron, that's one hell of a day! We've discussed doing a 600 miler but at this stage of the game I don't have the desire, now I like to get an early start an roll into town at around 5:00 so I can get settled in and get a Crown on the rocks in my hands, the savages I ride with always like to get into town right before the restaurant closes LOL
  15. In the rain we are checking into customs St. Joseph Island, Ontario February 2001, it was an epic day 2 of our ride around Superior; we would soon discover that the North Channel was a mess with lots of ugly ice with water on top of it and the tree line had been blown out by heavy winds. The day started out around 38*F in Cedarville Michigan and by the time we were 50 miles south of Chapleau we were in frigid whiteout conditions, we arrived in Chapleau at 9:30 and the clerk at Aux Trois Moulins not only tells me it's now -36F but that the town is booked, I told her that was alright as we would just sleep in the lobby...they found a room for the four us to pile into
  16. Always the easiest solution, yet so difficult for the weak minded LOL
  17. 48,000 miles of Interstate, 158,000 miles of US Route Highway, and overall there are 4,000,000 miles of roads in this country.....and you saw 2,200 miles....

  21. 428 miles Chapleau Ontario to Longlac Ontario in early February 2002, we had 300+ miles on the clock when we were fueling in Manitouwadge at 3:00 in the afternoon, and well don't you know it's only another 100 miles or so to Longlac....... Oh fuck not only is it 100 miles of riding thru no-mans land it had not been groomed or signed yet, but there were some groomer flags and we could see that two sleds had been through going north, and when we reached the point of no return fuel wise and we were discussing whether to press on or return to Manitouwadge we see the two sleds whose tracks we had seen in the areas that were not windblown heading south, the info we got was huge as there was a point 40 kilometers north we would hit a road and would need to turn right and then go right again about 200 meters down the road, by the time we got to that road it was good and dark and we would never have seen or known which way to go at that road. Any how we got into Longlac around 9:00 just in time to get a frozen pizza in the motel bar Had a 411 mile day Chibougamau to LaSarre in 2000, and more 300+ mile days than I can count. The crew on the C-101D east of Chapleau a couple of days later, we had three 2002 ZR 800's on that trip and one 2001 ZL 550
