1trailmaker Posted March 23, 2020 Share Posted March 23, 2020 The North Bay Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance with an investigation involving the theft this weekend of a pickup truck and two snowmobiles. Police received a report Sunday morning that a white 2007 GMC Sierra pickup, with Ontario licence plates AY75005 was stolen from a motel parking lot in the north end of the city. The vehicle was parked at approximately midnight and was discovered missing at 9 a.m. On the back of the truck is a hydraulic flatbed ramp that had two snowmobiles, including a 2017 Ski-Doo Renegade White, Ontario registration 7AN331; and a 2018 Ski-Doo Renegade Black, Ontario registration 8AL134. The total value is estimated at $30,000. Anyone with information that might help police with the investigation is asked to call the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555 and select option 9 to speak to an officer. According to the OPP, at least three suspects entered a fenced area at a Harvie Settlement Road business in Orillia last Tuesday (March 24) and stole a covered snowmobile trailer containing two snowmobiles. “Surveillance footage was obtained and the truck is described as a dark Chevrolet Silverado with dark coloured rims. A red and grey 2015 Skidoo and a yellow 2009 Skidoo MXZ 550 were stolen in this occurrence,” reads a media release. Around 5:30 a.m. Friday (March 27), thieves drove a truck into a fenced area at a business on West Street South in Orillia and stole another covered trailer containing two snowmobiles. “Surveillance footage showed three male suspects driving a dark pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet Silverado extended cab with dark coloured rims. Police have also charged 30 year-old Nathan Silvestri of Innisfil, with three counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 28, 2020 to answer to his charges.
