I watched an interview with Farrakhan a couple years ago where Jesse Jackson asked him to participate in a march against police brutality and Farrakhan responded, "Sure, Ill march with you, but lets not pretend we care about black lives when we are out here killing ourselves" Black panthers have also planned policing their own communities to prevent violence.
