2016 AC RXC vs. 2018 RXC

Recommended Posts

18 and up

few reasons off the top of my head... better headlights and new panels, newer skid and better shocks

the earlier 6000's (14 & 15 I believe) needed the piston update, fairly sure that was done by 16

2018 is the better sled, but has some shortcomings.

I had 2 2016's and 2 2018's.

Both 16's were SLOW.  Some were fast, but both the ones I bought that year were slow.  I couldn't get them to run out on top end to save my life.

On the 2018's, some of the highlights:

-LED headlights
-2nd gen bodywork (1/4 turn side panels, hard to keep clean)
-Cut out seat
-4 wheel rear axle
-Better clutches (IMO)
-Primer gray
-Easier to install tunnel protection, if you stud it

On the 2018's, some of the low-lights:

-4 wheel rear axle needs to be modified or replaced with a kit
-Seats rip at the cutout - replace with 2019 or newer seat cover if ripped
-Weak front arm in skid - replace with 2017 or 2019 front arm if cracked or broken
-QS3R's - may not matter, but is pretty much $1000 to put DSC's on all 4 shocks
-stainless fuel line may come off and rub hole in top of tunnel and cooler -verify it is in place and/or put sleeve of split fuel line over it in case it dislodges (uncommon-ish issue)
-Primer gray

2016's you have the older clutches, Gen 1 bodywork (not as nice to take on and off), the seat without the cutout, a 2 wheel rear axle, and the Fox Float shocks.

Perfectly fine trail and ditch sleds.
