The special military operation for Russia has been going smoothly, instead of 14 days is now 600 days, they have two new NATO nations, they’ve lost their black sea flagship, subs, 100s of thousands of casualties, tanks, aircraft, artillery, hundreds of billions of assets seized, importing weapons from Iran and NK because they don’t have enough, 15% interest rates, recession, currency down 40%, drafts, recruiting women, nord stream, Wagner rebellion, unable to fully control annexed regions, multiple command changes, yadda yadda yadda.

I’m sure Russia would do it in a heartbeat if they had to do it all over again. All part of the plan.

Russia just playing possum like a prize fighter.....

Actually the Ukrainians have a bridge head on the south side of the Dinipro river and despite the best efforts of the Russians the bridge head has only expanded. The price Russia has paid in just the last month in men and material is almost unbelievable.

Is the Dinipro river in Crimea?

Doesn't sound like a significant advancement quite yet.

Regardless. Russia will be fending off asymmetric warfare attacks for the next 20 years or more. The hate that they’ve caused in Ukraine hasn’t been seen since WWII. Putin really fucked up and kicked a hornets nest.

Maybe but they felt they had no choice.   All of this could have been avoided with better diplomacy 30 years ago.
