 Money isn’t speech

Really?   Buying a full page ad in the NYT's isn't money as speech?  Spending $30 million for a 30 second spot during the Superbowl isn't money as speech?

You think Jeff Bezos bought the WaPa out of the goodness of his heart or he liked the message (speech) they put out.

Your right wing argument is always - can’t limit money/donations because it violates  ‘free speech’.  Bullshit.  Money is not speech and can be limited without limiting speech.

Take your position to an extreme - why have any limits from anyone?

This is just a plain ignorant topic to discuss.  It isn't anything more than dem political pandering.  So they can say..."see we tried, but those damn republicans"  Only useful idiots fall for it.

You’re wrong but smart people are use to it

Limits.....:lmao:   Zuckerberg and his wife donated around $400 million to help get Biden and other dems elected.  Sure it might not have went directly to candidates but it was just as impactful if not more so.

As I stated before I would love to see changes to how money influences politics but I don't think the BCRA was the constitutional method of doing it.  What is.....not sure and would be a good discussion.

Some of the biggest money is in 527's and there is no donation limit to them and I think democrat ones raise far far more money.  Its very well possible that limiting some money would hurt the left more than the right.

Big tech and the MSM are the real wildcard here.   They can spend endlessly on speech and the suppression thereof.   I'm not sure how that can be balanced with contribution limits.

There were parts of the BCRA I liked...not sure if they are still in tact though.
