Was the ZR900 an 860, if I remember correctly?  I'd wager that's what you're going to see ... unless they really try to set the bar and go 900/925.

Yes it was. Northern crank made a stroker crank for the current 800 to make it an 860. That is probably similar to what the new engine will be

Original '03 zr 900 was a big bore of the 800, both had 76mm stroke the 8 used an 81 mm bore for 785cc, and the 9 used 85 mm bore for 862 CC

Laydown Engines 600,700,800 have all used a 70 mm stroke, with the 800 running a 85mm bore.

88.5mm bore would give an 861 cc

so they know the power making handlebar shaking secret recipe and won't make it... but EPA? tooling costs?  wtf-ism?

idk man, whatever they bring to market better be something spectacular if they expect to retain market share let alone take some market share.  the Doo 850 has been out since Obama was in office.

Ramstump, Deephaven and others who've posted about the 9R and Carl's version (yes I read the HCS and Snowest posts) seem pretty jazzed up about it.  Turbo isn't necessary for the flatland big bore jerkoffs, but the 800 ain't cutting the mustard any longer.
