X2,   better to just give a shot like we would for our pets who are no longer in the condition to live a fulfilling life

lol, Yeah not really on board with that either. I lost my dad to cancer this year so if/when my mom gets to the point where she can't do it on her own any longer my sister or I will take her into our home for as long as we can.

Don’t mind Ginger...it’s part of his schtick.
That being said kudos to you and your family for making that commitment.👍🏼🏼

You are clearly a better person than me.  I want to be a burden on no one nor do I want my parents to be a burden to me(they feel the same)

i was listening to the Dave Portnoy podcast with my daughter and she asks me why he says stick so funny.  I had to explain what a shtick is.

FTR i've been this way since I was a 12-13 yo kid and watched my grandmother live out a slow painful death from cancer.   Followed by my grandfather and then my grandfather on the other side and an uncle.   I would not allow my pets to go through that pain and keep them alive just because.

I get that, I do. When I'm no longer able to live in my own home and take care of myself that's probably it for me.

I was a burden on them as a child so I'm just going to try and return the favor if I can
