What you make is all relative. Where I live, if you make under $100k you're living paycheck to paycheck.  Yes I have nice things, but my no means well off. I could use the money just like anyone else.

You must not have your location correct in your profile cause indy is far from high cost.  married couple with  kids was getting the full boat well over 150k in income.  Given it was based on previous years net prob closer to 170 before it started getting cut back,  220 before it went all away.

I live in Fishers. The average home price here is over $300k. Everything around here is overpriced. But, the schools are some of the best and crime is almost nothing.

average sales price where I am sitting is $660k,  there is a handful of towns inland in the county that might get into the 3's but anything coastal is 4-600k.   And I still think that the number was prob too high to give out the money.

Just got a contract on my desk 1600 sf 60's range,  509k.  it's fucking nuts,  the place isn't even fully rehab'd-  kitchen/bath is prob 90's renovated.    Better deals being 30 minutes inland where you can at least get into a 3 bedroom 15 year old colonial in the 400's.

Fishers is certainly high cost for Indiana but nationally is one of the cheapest upscale burbs. Hermantown MN which is a suburb of Duluth is more expensive than where you live and pay up here is half what Indy is
