First significant business impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

One of our fuel tank suppliers is going to miss deliveries and cost us 3-4 weeks of production to get moved back a month or so.   Any production that is moved back is at risk of being lost to competitors.   Their component supplier has shifted a large portion of production to Ventilator tubes.   Because of the rigorous testing these fuel tanks go thru simply changing the supplier would require complete re-certification of the tanks.   This is more costly and time consuming than just waiting it out......for now.

While we are trying to move up other production it will be tough since we only have about 6 weeks to do it.

We will do some things around the factory like cleaning and inventory while the slowdown occurs and all workers will remain on payroll.   Could be much, much worse.

Are you covered under the small biz loan for payroll? Is it covering full payroll or half?

We will be under the PPP.

Full or half?

Just depends as there are lots of variables.   The big question remains will they really compare 8 weeks during this to 12 weeks (a quarter) from 2019.   If its the 4th quarter we will take a bit of a hit as we pay a significant Christmas bonus.   Comparing payroll 8 to 12 is tough enough to come close to equal add in comparing a quarter where a large company wide bonus is paid then its even harder.   But lets be real at 1% interest over 2 years its still a fucking great deal even if we have to pay 100% back.

Can you sabotage competitors in the mean time?

The bad ones will sabotage themselves. The good ones will keep prices up where they belong.

There are some real dirty player in our business and you would think karma would take care of them sooner than it does but you'd be surprised.
