People with impeccable credentials like Judith Curry and John Christy are vilified for simply being good scientists and speaking the truth. They have little to gain and a lot to lose, but they are trying to be true to their principles. Those that agree with her findings/thoughts are afraid to speak out because they will be vilified/ridiculed and will no longer be funded, hence, out of a job.
