  1. We're both from Ont and bought it for a recreational spot to go to in the summer. We have family and friends in the area. I was going to get a cottage/home built till the lumber went sky high. We"ll park our motorhome there for the time being.
  2. Fox Point Lake. Chester NS about 30-40 min from Halifax.
  3. I hope they hurry up lol. We bought a piece of property that needs clearing and it would be nice to be there when it's getting done.
  4. I had papers from the lawyer stating reason for travelling back in January and never had to show anything when we got to the NS border. We also had to fill out the NB form at the time as well. We had to quarantine for the 14 days at our destination and got an email at 8:01 am every day to fill out lol. We are heading down end of June or early July and have to quarantine again which is no big deal.
  5. Bye bye boat! I put it on the local marketplace and sold it to the first person. I got what I paid for it 5 years ago. The guy and his wife are happy as well.
  6. I stopped in at the local bodyshop that does good work but he won't touch my car and he won't even paint his own Vette. That's a bummer as it's close .
  7. It was my brother's wife's car and she wanted that paint and he had it done for her. It's Mystic Purpleen and 25 years ago $1K a quart. The quart now is around $1700/ quart. I'm going back to the original green or as close to it as I can.
  8. That paint is 25 years old and I haven't touched it yet. It's that funky shit where it changes 4-5 diff colors depending on the angle. I'm starting on the bottom of the car with all new brakes/lines, gas tank, sending unit fuel pump and lines, stabilizer kits front/back, all new shocks and whatever else. I have all new carpets for the interior then doing all new hoses, vacuum lines etc ,new tires/rims and then getting it painted
  9. I finally got around to doing the brakes over the weekend. I went on Sat to pick up the new calipers and they never got any of their orders delivered so I had to put the old ones back on. Now I have to wait another 2-3 weeks to have the shop to myself for ten days. I'll rip out the interior in the meantime and install all the new carpets
  10. We use the Off lanterns on the porch and back deck when the awning is out and the mosquito coils in an open area. The Off battery powered clip ons work great as well if your outside on a walk or hike
  11. The car had a body off restoration in 81-82. The bird cages are solid under the front and rear posts and the original colour was Elkhart Green. With the new paints out there they should be able to get it close.
  12. I got my barn find lol. The wacky paint job doesn't do it any justice and will be painted back to the original colour. It's a project car that is still intact and needs some TLC and sofar I've got a new gas tank, brakes, interior carpeting, carb, fuel and all brake lines, fuel pump and need to order all the vacuum lines.
  13. We have Hognose in our area and very rare and on the endangered list. We thought one was in our garden but turned out to be a Northern Watersnake. I hate snakes
  14. Prime rib roast done on the rotisserie, lemon potatoes, ceasar salad and homemade coconut cream pie
  15. 60". The gates on the rail trail here went from 64" to 70" for the guys running bigger rubber and fender extensions. The 72" aren't allowed on the rail trail but can run the forest trails near here
  16. I went out for a ride yesterday and got it a little muddy.
  17. We have a Quisinart pour over and use Tim Hortons fine grind and the coffee is better than what you get at their locations. We have a Breville espresso maker , a stovetop percolator and a Keurig. We use the Mc"Ds pods. I make a killer cappuccino
  18. I put the new carb on today, filled up my makeshift gas jug, squirted some in the carb and fired it up. I'm not doing any tweaks to the carb till I get the new gas tank/lines,plugs, HEI distributor/wires, vaccum lines etc installed. I'm amazed I remember how to do some of this stuff as it's been a very long time.
  19. We are on the home stretch now and the closing date is May 4th for my brother's house. The wife and I worked our asses off for a couple months,3 dumpsters and a ton of fires burning anything we could to clean the house out. We had it listed Mar 31st and had an offer of $22K over asking and accepted it. It's a rural old house 3413 sq ft with 4.77 acres and needs TLC . It'll be a big relief when we are done with probate, the tax man, lawyers etc etc . It was quite the ordeal and wouldn't wish it upon anyone trying to settle an estate when there's no will made out.
  20. When you get a chance look at a 7ft 2 piece med/heavy Shimano rod and alot of decent spinning reels for short money. That's what I use with an old Abu Garcia Cardinal 3. I use a 6ft one piece Shimano Compre med/heavy with a Curado bait caster as well.
  21. I thought I'd pull the carb off the Vette and do an autopsy on it lol. I ordered a new carb and a few other parts from the speed shop and still waiting for a gas tank and all the components, complete brakes and the the interior carpets. The cheapest part was a new fuel pump lol
  22. Steak topped with mushrooms, onions, peppers and lemon taters
  23. Homemade burgers with sauteed onions, mushrooms, peppers and a couple slices of tomato. Wife is getting cheese on hers
