  1. Thanks. They are 262 cad tax in. Regular 459 plus %5. Think I am going to give them a try. Apparently they have a 7 year warranty
  2. So I am at the sled show in Alberta and looking at these boots. The boa lace system is $40 more than standard laces. Are they a gimmick or worth the money?
  3. I really hope so. I have been a lazy slacker and still have work to do on my two sleds. Unfortunately I am not a baller and don't have a garage let alone a heated one lmao. So the warmer the weather the better lol.
  4. 23°f here in Edmonton. Snowed on Sunday night and it is still hanging around.
  5. The problem with the Japanese trucks pre 2014 is that they are a weak ass half ton but get the fuel economy of a 3/4 ton. I have a few Buddy's with titans and tundras and they all complain about fuel economy vs performance. One guy has a 2005 tundra. 13 mpg and 5500 lbs tow rating. Same with the titan, 12 mpgs and no performance to justify it. 1999-2006 gm truck it pretty much the best truck of that era. Probably why they still command a decent price. The 5.3l without AFM is a fantastic engine. If decent milage and taken care of will get around 18 mpg. Lots of pep with the 4 speed w/overdrive transmission. The biggest problems with those trucks was the rockers/cab corners and the transmissions. The 4l60e was a decent transmission once the upgrades were done. They needed the "beast" sun gear and some high energy clutches and band. Up here in Alberta there is a transmission shop that sells 4l60e transmissions with all updates ready to go for $1600 cad or bone stock for $1000 cad . The easiest transmission in the world to re n' re is a 1999-2006 gm half ton.
  6. Ya, I will be replacing them. It is a bit of a pain to get at.
  7. Thanks legend, I was typing out a message on why and you answered it before I could post lmao. I will call around tomorrow for pedal replacements. Hopefully they aren't retarded on price. If I don't have any luck, Tom says I should be ok
  8. Just looked, I can not see any light through the reeds where they sit. Those little chips are only on the one side. How would one go about cleaning them? First time ever having reeds in my hands lol.
  9. I was looking at those but the one thing I found online for reeds was that the v force weren't worth the money on the 700 cfi. V force was my first thought as well. But I don't feel like spending $350 on something that isn't worth it. On a side note, this us-cad exchange rate sucks ass lol.
  10. I am having a hard time finding any information on a reed replacement for the 700 cfi. Does anyone have any insight on what to put in?
  11. Well my night of a excitement for parts coming in has gone a little sour lol. So my 08 700 Dragon that I bought a little while ago was idling a little high. It was idling around 2300 instead of 1700. When I was looking at it, I pulled the plugs for a compression test and the plugs had no signs of a lean burn and compression was good. Get it home and do a little digging and see that the throttle body boot between the engine and throttle body is a know issue for getting weak and causing a high idle. Check mine and I find a little hole when you push on the throttle body. So today my new boot comes in. After figuring out how to take off the throttle body and dumping all kinds of coolant down the back of the engine, I finally get to the boot. After I get that off which came off in two pieces and it was super flimsy, I see the reeds.... So I a scale of 1-they're fucked, how bad of shape are my reeds in? Lmao
  12. That's anti-freeze. Looks to be marine/rv storage stuff. The sled is a SKS. So it is set up for more off trail. So it has the light weight rmk style track. Comes with a 2.25" series 5.2 track. The sled is marketed as "the most versatile deep snow sled".
  13. The dragon has Ryde FX all the way around. So that is $35 usd per shock? The CRF only has 1000 miles on it and the person riding it is the farthest thing from "aggressive rider" lmao. She will probably be scared of it for the first year or so lol.
  14. Hey Tom, are you driving back to Alaska or flying? Also what's a price on rebuilds for a 2007 crossfire 6 and rebuild and revalve for my fat ass on 2008 dragon switchback?
  15. Does anyone know why on a 2008 Polaris 700 the driveshaft would have a grease zerk but the bearing is a sealed one? It is the one under the secondary clutch
  16. What authority is that? The fact that they have to pull out their dicks so you can give them a thorough tongue-lashing?
  17. It is full on winter here in Alberta lol
  18. This is the 2007 crossfire 6 that I picked up for the other half yesterday. 1032 miles/1660 kms. He was another meat head that didn't realize that digital gauges can read in either mph or kph and was telling me it had 1032 kms lol. But at the end of the day, no big difference between 1000 kms or 1600 kms. It wouldn't and didn't make a difference. It has a run in with a barbed wire fence so it has a few scratches on the one side and the snowflap is missing. I will be addressing the flap before winter but it will be her first sled. It won't hurt that it already has a few scratches. Less heart breaking when she puts some on it herself.
  19. Not a whole lot. But enough to break weak branches in some areas. My yard was more white than green. Heavy wet shit that is only good for making a mess of everything lol. Most if not all is gone now. Up to 6°c today and calling for 13°c on Wednesday. Here is a pic of the sled the other half took last night. Shows the snow we had left until this morning.
  20. Hovering around 32°f all weekend here in central Alberta. Picked up a sled yesterday. Will post pictures tonight when I get a chance to take some decent ones.
  21. Picked up a 2008 Polaris 700 Dragon Switchback two weekends ago for myself and on Sunday of this week I am going to hopefully pick up a 2007 Arctic Cat Crossfire 600 for the wife.
  22. Last few years it has been Novemberish. Last year was silly though. Snow was here to stay early November but there was never enough to do anything with. It maintained the mediocre level of snow until exactly 12 hours after I sold my sled in February, then it snowed like a mofo for the entire week lmao
