  1. Looks real pretty....nice sled and surroundings! Just finished putting mine back together last night....should be ready to add some snow anytime now!
  2. Seen some pictures recently showing not too bad conditions.....remember the trail map is just a guide, it's not always updated to reflect what trails are really open. Thinking things will change before the weekend.
  3. I normally don't ride much around here anyways, not like I used too, so not a huge loss, but I'm hoping to get my daughter out this year for her first time and rather be able to toot around Simcoe vs driving any distance to ride. Even last year you had to go a fair distance for decent snow. Now that the kids are getting older the desire to have a cottage has increased....perhaps something in the near future, and prices adjust some more.
  4. Oh ya, the snow that fell so far is nice and wet.....The good stuff!
  5. NOOOO, don't say that.. Just a little bit north the nights start to get cold after Tues little warmup.....-20ish for Dorset area.
  6. I do not think so....the house was not old, but I do not think it was new enough to have wired detectors....and most do not go to the expense of adding that after the fact. All but one son died, who was away at school if I am not mistaken....plus I think one of the people in the house (mom maybe) had a physical disability, making it harder to get out.....I think they were all found in the one room together, it really was also a horrible accident. I am betting you might know a little more about the story.... Sounded like the husband was well liked in the community and credited for many things.
  7. Reminds of the fire that killed almost an entire fire in Sharon a few years back....with no working smoke detectors, think it was determined to be caused by the lint in the dryer exhaust catching fire. Horrible news.
  8. Crazy stuff! My first thought was the older female type cougar
  9. We always stay there as well (westway)....No complaints, and it is nice spot. Gas across the road, timmies right there, beer just up the road and nice restaurant just down the road with good food...plus the sled dealer too!
  10. Anyone I have talked to that runs at the various tracks state that Mosport is the fastest most challenging road course around this area.
  11. I have always heard good things about this track, and there has been mention of a few dips that go right into sharp turns, that can be quite challenging, however I do see that in this video. Looks like it would fun though!

    It has begun

Saw a number of sleds up the Bruce way on Christmas day on the way up North.....did not see one sled on Boxing day heading South (would have to be nuts or real stupid to be out yesterday)....
  13. Now that you mention Lennox, I think I was mixing the two up...I know my sister had either a Lennox or Trane and what mentioned above was the case for her.
  14. Why Trane? If I'm not mistaken the parts might be a bit harder to come by and those that can service them might be fewer as well. If memory serves me correctly, you are pushing the limits of a 2 ton AC unit....might as well up size. I installed a keeprite about 12 or so years ago, mostly because that is all I could buy myself without going through an installation vendor, so far so good. Easy to service, lots of service vendors too. Most use the same parts anyways, just different bells and whistles....but for some reason I think trane is slightly different.
  15. hope so, or your neighbour will call the nanny state police.... When I used the blown in stuff, it was actually not bad at all to handle or deal with, good system!
  16. If Doo is what works for you, have at er....But do not be blinded or short sighted when it comes to what others have to offer. They ALL have their strengths and weakness', and thankfully we have four of them to pick from (maybe 3.5), that keeps all the others always improving the sport, that we all benefit from (I will save you the trouble & add your rebuttal, "they all are just trying to catch up to Doo")... I have to be honest too in regards to the resale comment, I actually do not put much or any thought into resale when I buy a toy, I buy for the fun factor primarily (i will save you the trouble again and add your rebuttal, "that is because you buy CAT"). Maybe I talk and hear from all the wrong people, or just do not pay attention much, but I think the majority of us, do not buy based on resale. I am starting to think that you really may have been a good contestant for "Ski Doo's" NA top sledder....maybe throw your name into the hat, I am sure Jeff could give you a few pointers that you might be able to improve upon .
  17. Bahaha....Love a little shit talk! The Doo faithful can't see past the handle bars.
  18. Hard to argue with that, I'm surprised the change didn't happen sooner.

    Merry Christmas

Is that really a loss or a win ! J/k

    Merry Christmas

Hard to believe no one already started this thread in the Ontario sand box! Merry Christmas, hope you have/had a great day with family and friends!
  21. Seriously....how does a club that received the snow they did, not go and out, which is what the majority or the permit buyers expect?!?! Sounds like there were lots of people out putting miles on, well before they normally would.....I actually wonder how this affected the full season permit sales, must have been a good thing!
  22. Looks like in the old house the "attic" space is a living space...common in older homes, that also create another set of issues when it comes to circulation in the spaces above where you live, heat & cool.
