  1. Kind of hard to believe you still ride.....if I am not mistaken, your recent Cats and your last 1200 doo treat/treated you well.
  2. Lol....the forum grammer popo!
  3. LOL....from all accounts that I know, you were definitely one of the lucky ones!
  4. I almost bought the confusion in 04/05 season....I was shopping for my first sled, looked at Doo, Poo and Cat. Doo dealer turned me off them so it was Cat or Poo....almost bought the Poo !
  5. That BRP had the better spy's and were faster to get their product on the snow first.... BRP just has a product that is priced right (skis)....perhaps the only thing that is....
  6. yes, bigger lugs and longer tracks has become the new norm.....personally I have gone from 1" to 1.25" to 1.5" to 1.75", and seen top end drop each time, but do not care anymore, as 80 to 90 mph is just fine for me these days, but as many will agree, the rate at which the newer sleds get to those speeds has improved so much.
  7. The 8 should have....100 more cc's, but far too often, the 8's did not! The 1.5" track really did slow it down a lot on the top.....even Poncho changed his SP from the 1.5" to 1"....
  8. Perhaps, but this is coming from team Yellow....I am sure some might say otherwise, but goes both ways. My bad too, when I think of the machz, I am thinking of older chassis, not the one that was in the Rev platform.... Just like the issues with the Doo, I am sure the issues with the SW handling are stretched just a tad.....I wonder how the T-Cats with the Cat skis handle compared to the SW, not that the Cat skis are all that great.
  9. I wasn't even going to mention my F7... Radar runs on Simcoe were fun back than....The little 700 spanking so many others....The over achiever
  10. Yes it is, but many are happy with its trail manners, as well many other 4 strokes on the market, sure there are better lighter trail choices, but it gives you nice options both on trail and on the lake. I don't think there is no real competitor for it, just an option for those interested, which to me appear to be quite a few.
  11. So the machz I guess would be just as comfortable as a new sidewinder for trail/ day to day riding? Only comparing one thing among these sleds, top speed on a lake, seems a bit narrow minded. The majority of sleds today could rip down the lake at a nice clip than pound the trails all day....vs that machz pounding you on the trails.
  12. Shit man, you have winters mostly off from work! Seems like you are getting in a fair amount of riding, which good for you

    It has begun

I am sure he uses the left one.....that way it feels like someone else is doing it.

You must have missed the memo....winter is over around these parts, that came and went about week or two ago.....
  15. Already installed some Simmons...how do they work this chassis? Had them on my old cat but went with Curves this time....think I like the Curves better. My clutches chatter as well sometimes too....and its a 13, so different clutches. 1.5 cobra is a great track, really works well on everything except ice (without studs). If you have not already, install some ice scratchers, they work amazing, zero heat issues (never goes over 125) and good lube for the sliders.

    Looking real good!
  17. I think it was last year we were stopped by a pair of OPP around Gravenhurst that were in cruisers, they were checking paperwork by the trail where it crossed the road, I inquired about the trail pass check and the officer was not aware what it was for or why check that, I laughed and said that is the most important thing! Pretty sure the officer was new, but it was commical.
  18. Left from raven lake this morning, trails are firm, slick and fast. No water really, looks like LOB finally capped over, just a sheet of ice from what I saw. Raven is well tracked with some slush. Not overly busy, yet... This is d101b and 77 split.
  19. Yep, after this weekend, it is not looking good...I was not going to go out this weekend, but I am reconsidering that now with the long range....
  20. Not to rain on any parades, but the long range does not look very good right now, and that is going into the 3rd week of Jan. It could be worse (rain and seriously plus temps), however there is not much real cold coming to freeze up the big lakes and freeze up that low lying areas.....temps are just barely cracking the freezing mark for the night time lows. Too early to say what will really happen.
  21. I guess you mean a below average sled once in a while...I am already riding an above average sled. And, yes, I would like to have one of each to ride....but I also like to set my sleds up to my riding style, so having three would be more work I guess, and I seem to ride less these days. D'oh, that sucks, but great that you have other choices to get out there and ride! Places that stock stuff is becoming a thing of the past, it really does suck, but I guess it's tough having x number of thousands of dollars tied up in stock. I was going to suggest trying an aftermarket o-ring shop....if you do not mind spending the time, I am sure you will find what you need elsewhere.
  22. As much as it would be nice to have choices with sleds to pick from in the coral, I am not sure I would want to be jumping from one to the other during a single season, week to week, etc.....I like to ride "my" sled that has been set up to my style of riding. Looks like fun regardless.
  23. Sorry, but this has not gotten old yet. Truly a classic FS memory that will be around for a while, and for that, thank you 02sled You really either need to find a new place to ride or slow down with the drugs. Where is it you ride that you are checked that often & with line ups?!?! I don't like it either, but enforcement on the trails is a must, especially with what seems to be a decreased club presence on the trails....and of course with the continual decrease in common sense that people have or use these days...
  24. But you cant wait to get back out !
