  1. SaskTel works in Northern ON....or pigging back on Bell? That is a bit of a haul from Brampton....you drive up there much?
  2. Thank you, Mr obvious.... I was referring to the no start, not the slow turn over.
  3. LOL....look at that! Surely if you post that on OC, no way that would have been missed. The famous excuse, it is in my pocket....was that Di's that he had, that was not put on yet...
  4. My sled does not have e-start....pull rope all the way ! I made the mistake one frigid morning/night in QC to leave my oil on the sled and not top up the night before (like I normally do, but pulled into Val-D'Or too late & cold)......I could not believe how viscous the oil was the next morning, needed to let the container sit on a heater in the hotel to get it to pour out of the bottle.....
  5. When I go to the dealer to grab some oil and they have one of these mid height wind shields, I will buy one....if I have to order in, I am 50/50.....
  6. And those temps will only go higher as they closer, they always do this time of the year....maybe this year, they will not though !! I bought a GMAX mod many years ago, before a Northern ON trip, what a mistake and what a piece of crap.....ended up buying a Ski Doo mod at our second stop on the trip, Kirkland Lake if I am not mistaken, paid a premium back than, but such is life!
  7. I, and many others, never understood the no pull rope thing....makes no sense The relay and ski doo issue, does sound like a familiar issue though. The other issue could be a gas line freeze. Some heat, in a garage, would likely be best first choice to resolve. When I have started my sleds in these temps, and colder temps if you can believe it, the first thing you had to do was get the engine pulling over somewhat easy, once you did that after a few easy & slow pulls on the rope, she would always fire right up.
  8. Likely is, after all that is the colour of cars that females like to drive...
  9. Cannot be puzz's, I believe his is a clapped out 06....
  10. After a blown belt on a Doo.....a few more miles of sucking air through the primary and she is done like dinner.... On the other hand, happy to hear the Cat is keeping the belts on....some would suggest that is not possible! Is that the factory wind screen on the Cat, if not, any idea which one you ordered....and I assume the mirrors would be an add on?

Guessin that is why you're rolling with the older girl.....but than again, SK likely does not have the same laws as ON when it comes to the emissions....
  12. Natural answer is the CAT, but I will go with the Doo Doo....

At 12/13 years old, it could be a cooler line rusting out....never had a pan gasket go, plus all my trucks for the last 15+ years use RTV sealant for the pan gasket, have not see an actual pan gasket on a tranny in a while. I would be more inclined to install an aftermarket rear diff cover before a tranny pan myself.

Hopefully. Did you do a service lately? Might be one of the cooler lines... depending on the age of the truck.

And they say the best part of those dirtymax's are the allison trannies...they are the Doo of the HD truck world......
  16. At the time, it was either the boots or carry the two home if we went out in the winter.....@ 190 lbs combined, no thanks! Now it is just the one dog, so if I forget, it is not so bad as it was when we had the two of them. Who would have thought a 90 to 100 lb dog would be such a puss...but I guess if I had no boots in the cold, I might be a puss too!
  17. Both my dogs did that, so I bought them boots.....it is hilarious when you first put them on, they lift their paws straight up and walk all funny, then eventually walk somewhat normal, but next time they go on, same drill....

7 years in, has to be a new design real soon. Firekitty was 4 years Barney was 5 years, unless you count the touring sled and utility sled, so I guess longer

Here is some "real world" riding facts for ya: CAT motors are the MOST reliable & most will usually admit that, even if they do not ride a CAT All other sleds that I have rode with over the years, and that were all riding the same way/style, did not see much difference at the pumps (only exception would be a 900 ACE rental sled after his own DOO blew up in QC, but who wants to ride an ACE anyways......) The fire myth can be said about all, but of course some faithful just like to think its always the others that it happens too....but they all break and have issues
