Nine other countries assisted in the development and funding for the F35. That advantage is now gone since Trump demolished those relationships. The F35 can’t continue to operate without the ongoing assistance from those nine countries because that’s where replacement parts are manufactured. How is this program and the Navy’s program going to get paid for? Trump has effectively alienated all the allies. The same allies who helped fund the F35. The Saudis are buying Turkey’s jet and several middle eastern countries are following suite. The west is going to lean on the EU’s up and coming 6th gen. I don’t see Canada jumping into a fighter agreement with the US.
