    Yamaha Sidewinder

My old man kept his 2016 apex just in case he didn't like his sidewinder. He's been complaining all day about how sore he is from having to ride a sled without power steering. He's so die hard yammy he distrusts everything arctic cat about this sled.
  2. I took out 7k on New Year's Eve and the teller told me to "be careful". Felt like that was a bad omen.
  3. Added to my kitty cat fleet. Pretty invested in the dark side now but atleast I've got a backup/parts sled.

    Yamaha Sidewinder

My old man got one, I've put a few miles on it. Very smooth sled, no studs yet hard to say how well it puts all that power to the ground. Night and day switching back to his 2016 apex, the cat chassis is so much better.

    Winter 2017

Well winter is on it's way but as you can see I'm far from ready. Just sold my '13 Polaris, kept the streak alive and made money on the sale and the first person to look at it bought it. 5 sleds in a row. Who says sleds are depreciating assets?! Now the real dilemma, new Polaris, new arctic cat or just ride the shitty kitty?

    2017 Permits

I say it every year but the best looking permit I ever saw was one printed on the inside of a Miss vickies chip bag.

    2017 Permits

gave in and bought permits for both of my sleds at the last minute. Hopefully this year is better than last year...hardly rode and when i did get to I had to sled with a broken arm.
  8. I go every year hoping to buy something but always come away empty handed. Will be good to see the freestyle indoors this year since the wind and rain always cancels out half the demos. After talking to the guys at the Ontario watercross booth last year I made the decision that I was going to race it. Glad I did, pretty hooked on watercross after one race. First year I'm bummed that the summer is over instead of looking forward to sled season

    Winter 2017

I think I'm ready for the winter now that I throughly washed my sled inside and out!
  10. Well I don't have my own boat but I have a snowmobile that thinks it's a submarine.
  11. shameless plug here but I have started up a little side business. Designed and prototyped a suction cup mounted wake surf shaper, been selling a ton of these babies. Basically it delays the convergence of the wakes so that your surf side wake can form as big as possible. Same concept that the brand new $200K+ wakeboard boats use. Pretty pumped on how nice the CNC version came out. My first time designing in rhino.
  12. I would get the 60hp model if there is one in a 3 seater. You can have anyone with a buds system bump it to the H.O program very easily and for way less than the difference BRP charges.
  13. that same guy has it listed for $8250, seems like a good deal. What are the issues with your bike?
  14. If i had the money to drop on a boat like that I would go outboard motors, no question...so much cooler.
  15. 13 mph with people and ballast. When we dropped it off last year it had run perfect all year. I feel like the marina was using it a lot because it was almost when dropped off and had hardly any gas left when we picked it up this year.
  16. Ouch! Atlas it looks like you are able to do the work yourself. I finally got my boat out on the water for a real test after I had some setup issues testing along a shallow beach. Rebuilt the primary clutch, made a few rear suspension and side panel sealing changes and now the green submarine is working like a charm. Rolled the dice on a full run on the lake and shut up all the naysayers that doubted this cat will ever swim.
  17. ever had any issues with your amps? I had a kicker amp that fried itself and it seem like the new one is already on the same career path. My stereo cuts in and out when the boat isn't running. Works fine when the boat is running though.
  18. yeah good call. I guess I assumed that the plugs would be one of the first checks on the list for a marina that couldn't get a boat running after 2 weeks of 'working on it'. I don't have a trailer, that picture is of a wake wedge that someone else built that i will be more or less copying. Hopefully all the stuff I ordered on amazon shows up in time so i can build a couple suck gate v 2.0 for myself and some friends.
  19. Here is a great thread where I found info on how to build your own suckgate. https://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=70442&page=98 I just used a shower grab bar from home depot because that is all i could find before the weekend. It worked good for a few hours but started popping off at the faster speeds i wanted to ride at. We moved it higher up towards the waterline so it would stick better but it sprayed a bit. It works best on my boat as low on the hull as possible and about a foot from the transom. I'm ordering a heavy duty aluminium cosmos on off of amazon and using the large 90* brackets. I also have some hope plastic that i will get for free. Some people on there have also had good luck using the sea stow suction handles. My next version rebuild will look like the orange one below. https://www.amazon.com/COSMOS-Aluminum-suction-lifting-pulling/dp/B007VL3CB0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00
  20. got the boat working good again. Took out all the plugs and replaced with new ones. There were 2 plugs that were totally destroyed. I thought pulling the plugs was part of a normal winterizing process? also go anyone that wake surfs you need to build or buy yourself a wake shaper. I built this beauty ghetto gate outta a piece of a sled ski and a suction handle grip. $15 and 20 minute of my time later I've got a surf wake that is better than any $200 000 nautique or mastercraft. Just suctions to the side of the boat on the opposite side you want to surf and makes a perfect wave.
  21. I was planning on racing the whole OWA series but haven't got my sled dialled in yet. Pretty bummed to miss the first 2 race weekends. So many little changes that need to be made to get the cat set up right. I have probably spend 100 hrs wrenching and only a minute riding the damn thing.
  22. I thought I read somewhere that Tigershark lost cat so much money that even if they received the full amount of the suit they still wouldn't break even.
  23. e-transfers are about as safe as it gets as long as it is a legitimate one. Be sure you receive the password you will need to deposit it and make the deposit before your seadoo goes anywhere.
  24. Teated out my redneck donzi yesterday. Didn't got great, almost ran over a dog that ran out into the lake when I was coming in to shore. Got a wet belt second run and then my clutch spit out a weight that went right thru the belly pan off my ski and almost smoked me.
  25. We don't have any room to store it ourselves and we don't have a trailer. As far as winterizing goes I'm not up north much and would rather pay to have it done than spend my limited time up there doing it myself. Changed the plugs and found that 2 were in rough shape. Didn't get a chance to drive it myself but it sounds like it's running good again. Side note my redneck donzi had a sketchy maiden voyage. Almost hit a dog that ran out into the lake and almost sunk it when a bunch of water hit the clutches. It spit a clutch weight thru the sidepanel, off the ski and 10 ft into the air. Never seen a sled do that.
