  1. is it time for a price discussion... and I'm starting with Cat only because I saved the pricing from a couple years ago. looking at the 2024 ZR 8000 RR 137 which is basically a bng sled... https://arcticcat.txtsv.com/snowmobile/trail-utility/zr-rr that's a 21% increase over MSRP and a 50% increase over snowmageddon pricing for an unchanged model. sure, materials and labor have increased since 2020... and it looks like the 2020 MY was the time to buy.
  2. https://www.facebook.com/reel/932845527848677/?sfnsn=mo&mibextid=6aamW6 sounds good...
  3. note to self... be careful with the toilet paper at Spin's house van?
  4. for $40K ? you can buy a ROAD LEGAL mid-sized truck truck for the price of some of them, even more dumb than wasting $ on a sled
  5. for amusement... let's say I want a plain 2023 Catalyst ZR 600 129... without e-start? I also don't want the Rip2 track... I want an Ice Track or Cobra to stud I also don't want the Fox IFP shocks... I'm going to upgrade to Elka's or Custom Axis suddenly I'm into this $14K sled to the tune of $20K without paying for labor is this making any sense yet? now if Cat offered a 129" RXC I can skip the track (I like the Cobra), I can live with the shocks or add DSC's and opt for the non e-start model and save 25lbs or more. they aren't offering that for 2024's... but I'd be into it for $4K less than the 129 Base model with upgrades... right? example... if I were to snowcheck a 128" Polaris XCR 650 I can choose and pay for a 1.25" Ice Ripper, 1.35" Cobra or 1.6" Cobra.
  6. when you can make a more coherent response I'll attempt to answer... what are your top priorities in the enjoyment of a snowmobile? to keep this simple for you... 1. 3. 2. 5. 4.
  7. why? we're so addicted to this shit... look what you can get for $2000 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-85-class-bravia-xr-x90k-4k-hdr-full-array-led-google-tv/6499748.p?skuId=6499748 all this 'tech' or... solid chassis, good mill, great brakes and suspension? I'll pass on the tech, especially when it inevitably fails a few years out of warranty and it costs more to get the 'tech' repaired than it initially cost in the first place.
  8. 25lbs... think about what you just said there. how hard is it to pull the recoil twice. you are the most daft individual I've seen on a sled forum, truly. shame, Suzuki made great engines and if you knew your asshole from your elbow... well, you clearly don't so no need to further elaborate. there's 164 posts in this thread discussing lighter weight, so why make potentially unnecessary weight mandatory? optional... I get that 100% silly as it may sound, I can tell when my scratchers are down and creating additional drag in the woods under 40mph this is one topic we seem to fully agree upon. how much did all the e-start components from your High Country weigh? I tried looking for the post but... and... $200 or $400 is a small percentage of the current pricing, but it's something I don't feel one should be required to pay for... especially if you just intend to remove it. to whom? how much would your dealer charge you to remove it all, since you don't work on your own sled? how much would he then charge you to re-install it when you trade it in or to sell it to a family member? math mah boy... simple f'ng math here
  9. wife and daughter made a wonderful bday dinner.
  10. I want some pink ones... just to invoke a confrontation. Of course I'd put them on my brothers RXC without telling him.
  11. well shut my mouth, Polaris has joined in on the further overpriced pussification of America estart only on the 2024 XCR 650 https://snowmobiles.polaris.com/en-us/build-option/?subcategory=1073769904__CatalogContent&CatalogContentId=746879__CatalogContent&category=1073769904__CatalogContent
  12. no wonder there's b-Last's everywhere out there... the home state of the last remaining American snowmobile manufacturers has a 50mph speed limit. if I were Polaris or Cat I'd move to Wisconsin, Michigan or somewhere normal.
  13. weight and cost See below I'd rather blow money on suspension than gayges, Garmin's, estart or any of that horse shit. if you can't pull start your modern 2S low compression FUEL INJECTED sled, find a new f'ng hobby
  14. everyone you know must be a pussy
  15. no, you can ride full speed in Wisconsin
  16. two things about this I can't let go of for some reason... #1. Don't force people to get electric start, especially on a f'ng 600. I don't want the weight or cost associated with it! Polaris has this figured out, so figure it out Cat. #2. Track options... one track to choose from take it or leave it? I'm not the least bit interested in negotiating with the dealership on installing a track that best suits my needs after my snow check sled is built.
  17. okay, now who has a backup truck and trailer follow them around?
  18. if the new chassis is a modern that chassis with a reliable 600... I'll be a buyer after the first year guinea pigs.
  19. How many carry a mounted spare, the appropriate jack and lug wrench to change one? I keep mine inside the back of the truck, just in case.
  20. too bad they're soda cans if you hit a bump in the trail...
  21. on torsion spring setting two, between adding Doo wire scratchers and the tunnel flares to the RXC I've been consistently seeing 102-104 on the gauge. have not ran it in very cold temps with hard trails yet... as we haven't had those temps. lift the scratchers and you can pretty much add 20 degrees almost immediately.
