Maybe but we haven't been told to yet by gov Reynolds. One positive test and we would. Even a few calling in sick and we would. About 1/2 office staff working from home. The owners are not. We are here. Look pretty bad if we were at home while they were working. No chance we pull that.

Considering our population I'd say we've done pretty well. Many of those countries have a higher per capita infection rate than us.

Factory is open and running. Iowa hasn't gone on full shutdown just certain business'. One of my guys mom is the head ER nurse at a local hospital. You wouldn't like what she is saying and my county has very few cases to date. Personally I think they like everyone else really doesn't know where this is going and are preparing for the worst case scenario.

Vaccines besides stopping people from getting ill often reduce severity of those who do. They work.

Why does that matter? This is about not overwhelming our HC system so other needs for hospitalization are not impacted. We have to look beyond comparison to the seasonal flu. Italy is sending people home to die. Doctors and nurses are choosing who to treat and not treat. We are trying to avoid that here.

Our mortality rate is running about 1.2% as of this morning. Likely its much lower as many probably have it with milder symptoms and are not being tested. Even lower than 1.2% is still serious when compared to the seasonal flu.

Vilas county in Northern Wi when my cabin is sent a message out to stay home and not come up. Can't say I blame them as their medical services are not massive and they have a pretty old population in general. When at the bars the locals are all elderly.

No. Guy I know's daughter was in a serious car accident and may not survive. She's a Sr. in HS and nobody can go and support her family at the hospital. That sucks. If she passes the wake/funeral will likely be immediate family only. She's their only child. Its things like this we don't see or hear about. I really feel for him and his family. He's a good guy who does a lot for the community.
