  1. Have to because those who are deemed essential have to get to work too. Same reason why many daycare's are staying open.
  2. Yes and its too late to focus on quarantining just them. That ship has sailed however, that needs to be looked at as a possible solution on the next one. The pre-existing condition list of who this is deadly for was pretty specific that was shown on the news last night and it was mainly the elderly with those conditions. Nobody is saying a few young people aren't going to die but the numbers will be EXTREMELY low. Likely less than 500.
  3. Just repeating what he was stating. Vastly impacting elderly with other conditions over others. He broke it down well. Its worth a watch.
  4. A HUGE percentage are. I've got lots of customers and probably over 1000 suppliers and I know of 1 that shutdown. I'm sure there are more but I've only been contacted by 1. Those not working are a pretty specific group. Yes it covers lots of workers but more are continuing to work than not. The 4 largest mfg's in my area are all operating at full capacity.
  5. Cuomo was saying the exact same thing yesterday on how to get the country back up going. Healthy youth and those that have had it getting back out there. There is nothing wrong with planning the next step even if things still are getting worse.
  6. Mark my word before the election they will blame Trump's overreaction for hurting the economy.
  7. Not saying this should have been handled differently and I get scaring kids into participating in social distancing and isolation however I don't agree with perpetuating a false fear in our youth. All I'm saying.
  8. US will have less than 10,000 fatalities. Which is horrible and I'm not advocating a different response this time. Media and many in here will blame Trump for overreacting.
  9. But its rate of spread is vastly higher. That's the issue. Average person with the flu can impact 14 people. Its 58,000 with Covid because of the higher R0.
  10. Yep. Just look at the early financial performance of Amazon. Lost money like mad and people bought it like gangbusters simply because they liked the service.
  11. It was very clear on who is coming into the hospital, who is needed ICU care and who is dying. The vast, vast majority is elderly with pre-existing conditions. I'm not being critical of how America has reacted. I'm simply stating he made it very clear the deadliness of this illness is a very specific group. He stated multiple times 80% or more infected need zero treatment and barely feel sick.
  12. I'm sure there are lots of wealthy people of all races in Michigan that could have fixed the problem.
  13. Let's face it Vince, lots of business' fall under the extremely wide swath of "Essential." Essential in many cases means they want some tax revenue coming in and not a complete collapse of the economy.
  14. Many in need don't pay much or any in taxes and many actually get more back in EICC
  15. We are not taking any office visits nor are we allowing truck drivers to enter the factory. Paperwork is handled outside using 6ft rule. Steel deliveries they stay in their truck (our steel bay allows the whole truck to back into the factory) we unload the truck then they go back outside to strap their remaining loads back down. Outside contact with our employee's is absolutely minimal.
  16. Yeah stopping infected people coming in would have done nothing. You just lost your credibility into these things.
  17. When should have we started acting IYO and to what extent?
  18. Sure puts all the "all women need to be believed" crowd in a pickle.
  19. Trump had already stopped flights from China. He was doing something.
  20. Mayor De Blasio in early March telling people to go to movies and be in large crowds. "Since I’m encouraging New Yorkers to go on with your lives + get out on the town despite Coronavirus, I thought I would offer some suggestions," de Blasio tweeted on March 2. "Here’s the first: thru Thurs 3/5 go see The Traitor [at Lincoln Center]. If The Wire was a true story + set in Italy, it would be this film." https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/de-blasio-haunted-by-weeks-old-tweet-urging-people-to-get-out-on-the-town-despite-coronavirus NYC Health Commissioner in February saying don't worry about the Coronavirus. https://www.foxnews.com/media/tucker-carlson-nyc-leaders-endangering-public-coronavirus
  21. How? Because he occasionally ssounds optimistic? He shut down travel from China in late January. Have you seen the video of what NY officials were saying in February and even early March? All but demanding people go out into big crowds.
