CDC is estimating between 24,000-62,000 deaths.
Now keep in mind a portion of this was under the same circumstances and self isolation we are doing now.
Now I'm NOT downplaying the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic I'm just trying to put some perspective to it. I'm not advocating changes to self isolation or anything. At this point I fully support the efforts to stop the spread.
In that just short of 6 month period we lost on average 4,000-10,000 people a month to the season flu. I'm really surprised our HC system can keep up with that if most of them required ICU/Ventilators.
