Toyota make the best engines IMO and when I say best I mean the longest lasting and most dependable and that is pretty much verified by everyone. When they first came out with the full size v=8 tundra tho it was horrible compared to the big 3. The frame flexed like a mofo. I am not sure if they have changed anything because I just dont follow them but you are right, they arent "trying" to take over the consumer pick up truck market.

My etecs were always smooth, smoother than the cats or poo 800's for sure. But there is a timing mark on the TRA that lines up with a timing mark on the crankshaft so i am not 100% sure that those are supposed to be independently balanced.

I wish they would break up the US...

Ours doesn't work like that. We have credits and each credit is worth $109 a month so I have 16 credits. I'll get about $1600 a month when I turn 55. I can take an early pension at 50 for 50% of that but that would be dumb. We can't just withdrawal it or I would have done that 20 years ago and put it in an IRA.
