    Lasik

"Time stands still for no man" - truer words have seldom been penned. To my dismay but not surprise I am no exception. My eyes are showing their age and I have come to terms with the fact that it I am dealing with increasing near-sightedness. Driving at night is becoming a chore and I certainly owe it to the deer and geese this fall to do something about it. Not to mention that I would like to get involved in my club's two-gun competitions to see how I like that and I figure it would be helpful to see better than I do. So I have been weighing my options, those being either corrective lenses or laser eye surgery. I know two guys that have had the surgery with mixed results, but overall they are happy. I would love to hear from anyone else that has personally undergone lasik. Where did you go, how much correction was required, did it work, etc? Any input would be appreciated.
  2. With a possibility of 20+ cms for Muskoka over the next couple of days, there might just be something to salvage of this winter yet.
  3. It's certainly cool and appears to be minty. Even a 294 Silver Bullet like you mentioned in a similar condition would command a pretty decent buck.
  4. Seems that the arrogant little fairy can hurl insults, but isn't so good at taking them. Poor Jizzleboi - lmfao.
  5. You really gotta come up with some new material. Maybe you can ask your husband for some ideas.
  6. Speaking of getting things back on track, I guess that so far Ford is the only one to officially throw his hat in the ring. I'd wager that there's some serious debate going on in some of the other camps. If Mulroney (or anyone else for that matter) goes up against Ford and loses it would not bode well for their future in politics. You gotta pick your battles.
  7. WTH are you doing trying to get this thread back on track? Maybe you missed it but Jizzleboi has worked himself up into a right proper, self-righteous lather over the last few pages while 02slow has penned the equivalent of a Guttenberg Bible to get across three salient points that any normal person could've expressed in four or five sentences. You simply can not stem the flow of progress like that by interjecting relevant, on-topic posts.
  8. You call the company. The contractor in this area at least takes complaints very seriously.
  9. "Spineless coward"? "See you on the trails"? That kinda sounds like you're calling people out. Don't let your keyboard write cheques that your ass can't cash.
  10. I could be wrong, but you're probably not qualified to be a garbage man.
  11. Quoted for posterity. You can't just let a post so full of chest-pounding, self important false bravado fade away or be edited at a later date. The above says pretty well everything anyone needs to know about you.
  12. You really are quite the arrogant individual eh? 15 bucks? New Canadians? GMAFB. Obviously you have never had anything to do with staffing. Anyways, to answer your question, I think AC is pretty close. 18-ish to start, ultimately 20-25 is what you would have to pay to keep decent guys and even then the turn over would likely be significant.
  13. Pretty tough to get a decent DZ driver to reliably show up every day, to work in every type of weather and slug often heavy, stinky garbage cans for that kind of money. Maybe in Muskoka, the Kawartha's and points further north, but never in the 905 or 416.
  14. Serious question - what do you figure is adequate compensation for a garbage man?
  15. Some people on here act as if we don't need any civil servants or government services. I'd bet that most wouldn't take many of these supposedly cushy government gigs because the compensation really is barely adequate for the job requirements.
  16. If it was because of the snowmobiles and/or select-fire firearms then no. If it has anything to do with Bruce Willis, then definitely yes.
  17. And no soul I might add. Also too many threads full of wankers stroking each other virtually non-stop over the great wisdom and benevolence of the OFSC. Sorry for the thread hijack Sean.
  18. No Google required. I sold helmets for years, so some of those salesmen's pitches had to stick eventually. I talked about various helmets so often and for so long - the pros and cons and how to properly fit one - that I could care less if I had to discuss helmets ever again. Parting comment however is that personally I would choose an ECE helmet over Snell for motorcycle use.
  19. AFAIK a big part of the Snell certification process involves the ability of the helmet to survive multiple hits in the same spot - something that basically never happens in a motorcycle crash. It is common in auto racing however since the driver is captive and surrounded by fixed hard points. There has even been testing which shows increased risk of a brain injury while wearing a Snell-rated lid because the greater rigidity required to meet the standard actually transfers more impact. But I get it - you love Snell rated lids, and there is no arguing that they generally are much better than DOT only certified helmets.
  20. ECE is indeed the new benchmark. I was always told that the Snell safety testing was geared more towards auto racing than any other motorsports anyways.
  21. If you truly value your head, the safety of a 20 year old helmet (even a Snell rated one) can be called into question. BTW - I hate to break it to you, but it's not your old HJC that everyone is laughing at.
  22. Holy shit - seriously? That's really not good for the PC's this close to the election. Ford would be the logical replacement though - at least a lot of people know who he is. Likely more recognized than Brown is, even to this day. Still if this is true, what a turn of events. I wouldn't count on that. You can bet that old twat still has a few tricks up her sleeve.
