college holiday break

So the daughter is home for three weeks, and right now there is a kitchen full of her friends, same age, here having "a good time" conversing about the dumbest shit a body could imagine.

We're fucked, to say the least, if this is the normal college kid's attitude.  Not impressed at all.  Lotta growing up needs to start any day now I hope.

Anybody else experiencing the same or might I be the only unlucky one?

half the college kids i run into here can't read an analog clock, can't write cursive, math skills are non exisistent

 

true story. 

 

but if you have a conversation online they come across as scientists and scholars. in person  without a phone to google on , eh ...  not so much.

What are their majors? 

Engineering school brought out some book geniuses that couldn't change their own tire.  Fairly conservative crowd though.

In business school the IQ went down substantially and they got way more liberal.

And the boomers I run into can't type without looking at the keyboard or remember their password.

It's amazing what some of the younger engineers pick up fast in the different software packages.
