Tommcat
does anyone have the ignition timing map for a 2000 xcsp 700 and rmk 700? most specifically, what it's doing at 9400 rpms

Tommcat
also, it looks like i'm swapping in an ignition system from an 04. does anyone know the curve for an 04 prox 600 and 700, and also if there is a hard rev limiter built into the cdi/ecu? Doug
Tommy this is what I have and don't think its going to answer your questions though. The newer service manuals don't show the curve like to old manuals and also don't go to the RPM your looking at being 9400. Here's some information on the 2004 and also the timing curve for a 1999 XC700 and RMK700. I don't think they have a rev limiter but I've never operated at the RPM your looking at Edited October 3, 2022 by Doug
Tommcat
so if they give a timing spec for 9k on the RMK, i have to assume there is not a rev limiter?

I would also assume that. I know the triples did not have an RPM limit. A 600 triple triple we ran at 9800.
Tommcat
maybe it just feel like a rev limiter because it's about 10 degrees retarded from where i need it. thanks doug
