The film icon was born on Dec. 9, 1916, in Amsterdam, New York. He made his big-screen debut in 1946. Douglas starred in over 90 movies, including "Spartacus," "Paths of Glory," and "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea." Empire magazine ranked Douglas 53rd on its "Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time" list.
