I’ll also agree that money in the hands of working poor does more for the economy than someone in the top 5%. But were wages in 1979 sustainable? Ie. being able to start a union job from high school without getting any trades and Buy a house in a couple of years. Lots of non skilled factory guys had cottages, new cars very 3 years. Most of their wives didn’t work etc. Those guys would brag that they weren’t paid to think and would spend as much time avoiding work as working.
