  3. Crop prices and input costs. My good friend who's 76 years old now, raised pigs from the time he got out of the navy in 1970ish until 1982. In 1982, he was hauling corn out of the bin to the mill in the spring-time for $4.25/bushel. He was keeping an eye on the bin level as he knew he needed roughly 3000ish bushels to feed the pigs until October when new corn was ready to harvest. Problem was, day by day as he's hauling out, the prices of hogs was plummeting. So when the time came to knock off hauling and keep the rest for the pigs, the price of hogs was down to 40-ish cents/lb. So as he's feeding them one morning, he thinking......he walks out of the barn and looks at the bin where the corn was still half-full. He looks at the pigs, looks at the bin, looks at the pigs, at the bin, etc...... He walks right up to the house and calls a local cattle hauler, and in 24 hours time, he was out of the pig business forever. Fast forward to this winter: his son decides to raise 2 pigs to have butchered for him and his family. So he calls the butcher last week, guy shows up with his trailer, and they fight like hell of course to get em on. So my buddy's telling the guy his pig-raising stories from when he did it for a living, and how he actually made good money in the 70's when he could sell a 300lb pig at market for 60-70 cents/lb., but how it really sucked in the early 80's when corn went up and pork dropped like hell. And the butcher turns to him and says " I just bought 2 beautiful pigs last month that averaged 300-ish lbs. for 65 cents/lb. You see what I mean?

how about the difference in pension justification for manufacturing employees vs. services employees?
  8. I didn't post the whole interview, but Shapiro in his speech pretty much points toward it as a hate crime. Not much info on the suspect out yet other than him having a criminal history. The timing of it sure points toward the possibility though.

  13. I hope it holds together well for ya. Son bought an engine out of a fox body to put in his 67 mustang a year ago. Finally got it in and drove the car out of the shop, up and down the driveway a few times. Pulled it back in an noticed an oil leak in which he decided to remove the pan to get to it. Drained the oil in the pan and metal shavings in the oil. Upon further inspection, wrist pin walked out and sideswiped the cylinder wall..... I don't like modded shit anymore on a budget....
  14. you don't get adequate notice if you're illegal, and any law on paper that may state otherwise, well, you just go ahead and wipe your ass with it.
