  1. Well.... assault with a weapon minimum... Should the idiot fall off and hurt himself... assault causing bodily harm. PLEASE don't do this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although I get it...and it would be funny to see....
  2. Well... It was aboard their 40'. She was waiting to go down below as there were two guys down there and she wanted to experience it by herself, take pics etc.. Only myself and her son in line. Sales guys pipes up in some weird accent.. "You can down below now..." She responded shes gets a little claustrophobic and wants to experience it without the two strangers already there. Him, again accented and now just plain rude: "You're just holding up the line, hurry up". She took his advice and hurried off the boat and away from the Regal booth altogether.. Due to work and life circumstances, she was easily capable of getting into this boat or similar... But now I can't even mention Regal.. Still looking at the Boca's however we found a Doral Alegria for sale... 45ft (50" LOA) at good price. We've made friends with a couple doing the Great lakes and then travel down the inland waterway to Florida. Apparently that's our new goal as retirement comes up. Thus perhaps looking at bigger boats.
  3. Thanks for the positive input. Glad to hear stuff like this.
  4. LOL!!! It was actually my wife that got the brunt of his disrespect... very very French girl. Did not go over well...
  5. Just got home from show. Saw some nice boats...crowds weren't bad at all...was expecting a zoo being a Saturday. Great chat with Kim Slocum, president of Rinker. Great guy..looked at their 370 EX not a bad boat for the money. Was treated like shit by the Regal salesman... made fun of the OPP guys... Gave the finger to the mounties.. all in all..good time!!!

    A Very Close Call

I know that trail well. Some of the signs are hidden by brush. A few are missing. They've been advised many times about this... Not sure if that's the case here, saying that however, most of the road crossings are fairly visible. Usually you get enough warning just seeing the road ahead....speed dependent of course....

    A Very Close Call

Jeezus... That's the worst article I've seen in ages...and that's saying a lot after all the Trump coverage. As for charges... as some have said on here, the signs are pretty bad along that trail in areas. BUT.. still up to the rider to operate safely. Based solely on what the reporter is saying he cold be looking at Careless driving, Disobey sign, Enter roadway improperly or Cross roadway improperly. Very hard to say without knowing all facts... Need to check sled for mechanical failure as possible cause as well... Hope he heals quick.. Not a great season so far..
  9. hmmm... on the company sled?!?! That would cost me several hrs!!!!
  10. There are no red light cameras in my jurisdiction...or any OPP area as far as I know so not extremely familiar with the legislation. The photo radar was always based on the vehicle only regardless of the driver however many issues were brought to court surrounding this. As was my understanding it held up, but with what we refer to as tests... meaning all evidence is listened to and all things must be accurate.. again my understanding. I don't think the red light cams have the same level attached to them as they are primarily deployed by the specific municipality. I think in this case the evidence showing that he was not the driver was so overwhelming that it would bring into question the administration of justice that the courts deemed him innocent. As for being in the intersection.. the way the lights are set up and timed, this should never generate a ticket. Its the obvious still behind the white line when light turns red but goes through anyway vehicles. Of which there are many!!
  11. Sorry Blackstar...didn't see your post.. perhaps answered your question in the one above?
  12. Thanks for the appreciation!! As for your question...there is some differing case law out there. But what SEEMS to be acceptable in a number of courts is, in your example... a push or swipe to answer the phone. Beyond 2 or 3 key presses seems to get a conviction. In all honesty as an officer looking for this infraction, its only the obvious ones that get pulled over. Many justices want to the officer to clearly see the device, and see an engagement of some sort with the driver.. i.e thumb/finger manipulation, lighted screens, mouth moving etc... As for built in Bluetooth devices...for example my truck has the controls in the steering wheel. One press can answer/hang up or activate voice dialing etc.. Your hands are no t on the device itself and its really considered no different than hitting your signal, turning on headlights etc... Hope this answers.. if not, let me know what I missed.
  13. The law refers to the use of handheld devices not that it is specifically in your hand. I've seen in court where people are convicted while their passenger was holding it but they (the driver) was actively reading it/looking at it. If the phone is in a cradle and you are using speaker/Bluetooth their is no issue. If you are pressing buttons on..i.e. texting then you can be charged and convicted. As for the truck driver... definitely not. This is similar to the old story about the guy getting charged for leaving his trailer hitch in. The media is misleading. There is no specific "distracted driving charge".. Simply a couple of charges that address the issues that distract drivers. I.E. the phone, in-car video viewed by the driver. I suspect with the truck driver he was actually using his phone and charged with that but his defence was he was grabbing the smokes... OR...its quite possible he was charged with smoking in the workplace under the smoke free act... I've seen at least one, umm... intense officer do this

  15. Not a great start to the season... From their Facebook page: Kawartha Lakes Snowmobile Club January 14 at 4:47pm · Trail Closed!!! Thanks to a hand full of Trespassing "freestylers" we have lost another piece of trail!!! What part of "STAY ON TRAIL" can you not read? With just about 50 landowners we work hard with each year, we have just lost a trail with 4 of them. Trespassing onto fields off of the marked trail, that our volunteer board members works with landowners to put a trail thru, to give us all a great trail to ride is Lost and won't be regained because of a few rotten apples ruining for the rest of us! Congratulations! Soon KLSC won't have any trails if this "free style" attitude continues. It is trespassing!!! You ruined this landowners seeded fields! It is All our jobs to protect our landowners --ALL of US who ride KLSC trails and thru out Ontario! If you see off trail sledders Report them! If you are one of these persons thinking it's, NO HARM done. Well you are the problem you caused this loss you don't deserve to ride! Thank you for the ultimate slap in the face! Liz Phillips, KLSC. https://www.facebook.com/Kawartha-Lakes-Snowmobile-Club-136438619749165/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED&fref=nf Some the comments are just stupid....
  16. Yeah...def not buying a new boat there...but whets the appetite and helps us zone in on what we really want/need this coming season.
  17. Yeah...would like to avoid the weekend as well...but sadly the only time I can fit it in..
  18. Anyone going to the show? I'm not working our booth but going to check it out. Thinking Saturday 28JAN17..
  19. Trail pass enforcement has always been a zero tolerance offence. I rarely hear of warnings being issued for that. But do appreciate the input. Its been tougher this year with the online issuance of the pass. Many people still only have the paper copy which usually has been "expired" by several days as they await the real pass in the mail. Last weekend I had a few riders with the pass in their pocket. Usually that's an indicator they share it between sleds or friends. They are forced to apply it to the sled AND leave with a ticket as well. All members in my unit do similar.
  20. Wait... so you guys want MORE enforcement?!?!?!? Ok, I'll see what I can do!!! Misleading headline for the news article... It's not the OFSC complaining, its a specific club, more so a few specific individuals for that club.
  21. I pay taxes so I own her too!!! The flaps get cut down as they always get caught when unloading the sleds. A BRP dealer actually does it for us... Yes, easy to outrun the sled...the radio, not so much
