Sorry to hear the news about your mom, @Highmark.  I truly hope for the best - not only for her but for you and your entire family.  I grew up with a mom who worked as a CNA at a nursing home, and I spent my summers there working with the maintenance department, so I've seen the depressing side of this stuff (thankfully, I've also seen some good stuff too).    I think your MIL and my mom are very much alike in their thinking.
