The only thing that I can figure out is that he's trying to position himself as Trump's running mate. The audience response to his attacks on Haley and post debate polling suggests that he's no longer a novelty, and his 2 minutes of fame appear to be over.....
  2. Alrighty- I have learnt it..... I dun guud?
  3. Can we add this sled to the pole?
  4. You forgot to add the choice "Taiga" to the pole.....
  5. Jim says there are no other brands, therefore then pole is moot.....
  6. @ZR6000RR Alright- you bastards triggered me to bite. I try so damn hard not to..... So- Brand loyalty is more important than the sport itself?
  7. I miss the days of Cat's fire sales. My wife picked up her '17 ZR8000 LXR for $9500 and Cat financed it at 0%. They had to be losing huge $$ to move those sleds, and as a consumer I was very happy to take advantage of it. Then, when Cat transitioned to spring snow check orders only, even dealers like Country Cat suddenly moved to more of a retail price structure. No more fire sales from high volume dealers like Country Cat. I still have Cat dealers in my area, but if and when I buy another Cat, it will be from one of the old time legacy dealers such as Thomas Sno Sports. The "new" dealers in my area don't seem to be hardcore about the Cat brand at all.....
  8. Last year's reroute was heaven compared to the old route around the ski areas. The trail would be groomed every night and junk by noon. So, good riddance! Last year's reroute was great from a rider perspective. I understand the issues that the land owners are having and how that would sour a ton of people. Given the amount of private property between Ramsay and Wakefield, that trail is going to be a perpetual challenge. @favoritos we used Bingo's for years as well. I suspect that we've had a beer or two then..... It is sad to drive by there now and remember what it once was. Years ago, we loved running the road up to Thomaston, then up County Road 519 in fresh lake effect snow at 90 mph up to Presque Isle Falls. We did a lot of spur of the moment trips to Bingos whenever there was decent lake effect in the forecast. We'd also run up the Camp 4 Grade and eventually end up on South Boundary Road whenever there was fresh lake effect. Obviously, things aren't open like they used to be because tons of people (like us) just rode wherever they wanted, but Bingo's was usually our base camp. In general, we didn't run Trail 11 much. It seemed like there was either a ton of logging or wet spots that made riding that route to the south a crap shoot.
  9. OMG- that is an understatement. She didn't exactly instill much confidence that anyone knew what they were doing in TRF. This year was much much better.
  10. I understand that completely. I'm finding that the older I get, the less I want to tinker. I look back at the time I spent on testing/tuning, and the frustration of testing something only to find that it had a negative effect..... I understand your OCD statement completely. I hate to say it, but I lost out on a lot of good riding screwing around with sleds that were a lost cause..... Now? I want to just enjoy the ride....
  11. @mnstang - most likely yes. Like any project sled, it was built to tinker with and see if I could make it work. I probably could have tinkered with that thing indefinitely, and never achieved what I was hoping to given the mismatch between the front and rear suspension. I addressed a lot of things, but didn't know enough about shock valving to do it right.
  12. That is 100% correct, @Not greg b. The sharp angle of the skid combined with the decreased track making contact on the snow scrubbed a lot of speed off of the top end. Not to mention the increase in wind drag....
  13. There was a ton of "Sit in" when you sat on the seat. The rear suspension would collapse to a near normal height, but it was still high enough to impact handling. The goal was to have the air pressure set to allow as much travel as possible without bottoming out. Even tho it rode great and felt like riding a pillow, the handling would "wallow" (as I called it), with excessive ski lift in the corners. It you put more weight on the front end to improve the ski lift, then it became too easy to over drive the front suspension. My solution was to add different dual rate front springs. That sled was never perfect by any means. But it was a fun toy.
  14. Correct- It was a FAST M10 Air Wave- adjustable air pressure- There was a ton of ride in with that suspension- probably sagged in roughly 50%. The ride-in reduced the height, but it was still too high causing ill handling. It was a cool toy tho....
