  1. taking this into perspective

    a 1992 340

    a 1998 500

    a 2004 600

LOL, in the first paragraph I already started the math, by the second one I was like 'stop being a bitch' and by the third I was reminded of 'buyer beware' and no one made you buy any of these piles of shit.

you got precisely $200 into the red to post this thread.  I spent that just on some gaskets.  remind me again what it is you're bitching about?:lol2:

  2. standard gauge, a keen sense of direction and good old fashioned printed maps

    I'm nostalgic that way

but, if I were buying a new Poo the 7S and the 'smart grip' feature would be difficult to turn my back on due to Raynauds in my left fingers and the configurable gauge.

this said, still going to rock 2010 team green old school simple toggle switch shit and an old fashioned map for areas I don't know next winter.  what's funny is I can ride numerous 100 mile+ local loops and never stop to look at a map once, maybe that and the guys I ride with like chasing a 500 is why I normally lead.

What exactly do you mean by "frying".  Wet and lean don't really go together.

it's a contradicting statement, wrapped in an enigma.  it's not even plausible to me being "wet and fried".

OP on this issue, either post some pictures... please explain wth you are talking about with more depth or maybe take it to someone more qualified than yourself for a proper diagnosis.  where are you located?

most in this thread and page are experienced with carbs and this chassis, so start skipping the vague bullshit, make sure the timing is correct, you have proper spark and fueling to each cylinder, maybe do a simple compression check and help us help you.

How much cheaper do you think it is for cat to build a 600 vs an 800 sled?  I would bet it's within a couple of dollars.  And some extra$$ figured in for higher 800 warranty costs.  But essentially the same.  I don't know enough about those other products you listed to comment.  I'll say it's not all about a spec sheet that makes a certain snowmobiles a right fit for someone.

Things are expensive.  Get used to it.  What do you think all these bullshit stimulus things are going to do?  It's called inflation, our dollars weaken with every one.  If you got any stimulus money, in the end it will probably cost you 10x more than you got in the end (or more)

    $6.18, I looked it up.

Keep voting to take guns away though.  See how well that world out for you.

wtf is your obsession with /\ this /\ and me and you incessantly posting about it?  do I need to post pictures of my arsenal or something, seriously... you are reaching level three idiocy over this?

I don't, but I don't know anyone personally that's bought any 21' sleds from any manufacturer.  I have seen them out in my limited trail time this year.

At least you can agree that pricing on all new sleds is high because that's where I was going next.  In relation to the "full size" sleds, I think the price is very in line, if not a bargain.  Really sit back and think how much cheaper it can be.  The assembly costs is same.  The front end is same.  The exhaust is same.  The chaincase is same.  The track is same.  The epa testing is same.  The r&d is same.  You're saving a little bit on the motor.  You're saving a little bit on cheaper shocks.  You're saving a little bit here and there on a few select parts, that to me doesn't justify half off from the other sleds.

People are just so negative toward this and I think it's dumb.  It's ok if it's not for you.  It's kind of narcissistic to think it must be.  Why aren't you bitching about every single other new sled that you aren't buying?  There must be a reason you're not buying those too right?

Does Doo have the right idea on the 'entry level' sled?  Maybe...

    when comparing apples to apples for 2022 you can buy an 85hp MXZ 600 Sport 129 ($8700MSRP), a 65hp Blast ZR 121 ($8255MSRP)/Venom 121 ($8199MSRP) or IDK?hp Indy 550 121 ($8099MSRP)

    next step up is the Renegade Adrenaline 600 ($11,949MSRP) an 137 Indy SP 600 137 ($11,599) or a ZR 6000 137 Limited ($13,395MSRP)

where's that 'middle of the road sled' for Cat now?  that's part of what I'm talking about, a simple fun trail sled and maybe in this midsized chassis they already have the tooling and materials to use.   no, I also did not use snowmageddon pricing as Poo & Doo guys don't seem to pay list either, heck even the Riot 6000 with base shocks has a $12,895 MSRP?  really Cat?

I feel they were on the right pricing structure for the product they were selling during the initial snowmaggedon years, this year I don't think they're in the ball park at all, nor does @taperk600 or folks that have bought many of them.

@Badger** - thanks for the suggestion on Arnie's.  I called there and spoke with Bev (or was it Beth?) and she put together a quote for me.  I ultimately found CB Performance had the better price by about $10 or so, which I'm sure has more to do with the shipping than anything else.  Credit to CB, too ... I placed the order for the backers without ordering the tool/wrench because I already have one.  They called me about 10 minutes after I placed my order to make sure I didn't need the wrench - good on them for following up!

bought a track from CB this year, best price by far and great customer service

  7. "well boys, that was a fucking race"

the back section of the track was eating people alive.  the big Theo Poirier crash happened right in front of us, he's ok but he took a hell of a hit.  Pro-Lite and Pro finals provided fantastic racing, as did the womens class.  Ishoel is a madman, but we saw him on the first lap coming out of turn 2 with his right ski dangling outside of the track and he just kept railing it with the throttle pinned to the bar and that outside line bit him twice on the front straight.  kid really is something else, he was killing it on the back section of the track  - tripling everything.   it was fun to see a lot of the inner workings that go on behind the curtain, thanks for the laughs and the VIP treatment @fortune46x  :bc:

now, I'm off to bed.  long day.

I also bang around the idea of if I would buy a blast, then I think it would be awesome if they just added a 600... they realize I can just buy SX sled.. Soo  why the doesn't AC just sell the SX sled to consumers?  they un on 91oct now anyway. If I could go finance one of those... I would sell my shit box.

The single is neat... that's about it.

trouble with the SX sled is the tiny fuel tank and mapping it for trail and 91 octane use.  you're better off with an RXC imo anyway.

my point of making a 'modern Sno Pro' from the Blast is that it would literally be a parts bin sled for them with tech/tooling they already have.   stock 600 they've used since 2014 without e-start, use the wider A-arms, spindles, from the previous ZR's, basic IFP shocks, a little additional bracing where necessary, the 129 skid again using IFP's with a Cobra, slather it in ARCTIC CAT green and black, skip the fancy gauge nonsense, and they're done... all new $10-11K Sno Pro for us trail guys to piss pound and tinker with.

the reason for the basic IFP's is to keep the price down, then if folks would want to upgrade the shocks there's tons of options already out there for us new or used.

I wish we had perfectly groomed one way trails that would make me care to want better corning.

....or maybe I don't.  Based on our trails I have a hard time understanding why cornering more easily is a benefit.  Perhaps if I rode with stronger riders so I was constantly behind and trying to catchup it'd be different, but I am always waiting.  Don't need to wait longer.

so are you getting a Rave for next season or not?  :)

one of us here has to, and it won't be me.

Honestly yurk has shit luck lol

but still does pretty damn good  for having a stall on the line then eating shit another round lol

once he gets old lady luck figured out... watch out.

I feel bad for Yurk, he's a good rider on a good team with Zandstra... but there's obviously an onion in his ass.

Norum had a great ride, as did Hunter and Francis.

will be there tomorrow... throwing mud pies at 'tech' from a distance.

GOAT.  He was a ridiculous machine...I actually didn't like it but, had to respect it.  Also, he was one of the most humble and generous guys you'd ever meet.  A class act in every way.  Almost weirdly so.

Pretty easy to see Doo &Poo's investments in the future and their machines are paying dividends again this year.  I can count the # of Cats on the track in most rounds with one or two fingers.

is that the second time Yurk has had to restart at the start this year? did pretty good for such a bad start

saw it happen live at ERX - couldn't believe it happened again.

    where's Wittwer?

Picture is on an alpha, just saying.

Awesome to see the return of the stator side belt 😍

Pretty sure I could mount a fan on that upper pulley and clamp on some finned cooler things to the jugs.

    FTW.

    Way to go cat!

go one step further, bring back the free air sleds with even fewer moving parts, leopard skin seats, chrome and HUGE FUCKING JUGS sticking out of the hood !

I always hated the thanksgiving race, Its hard though too running a condensed schedule to not get burnt out

The track will be interesting for sure , check the track cam and you can get a feel for what they're doing size wise.

I would have laid out a figure eight with over/under jumps - all they had to do was call.  the morons!  :)

That's about what I figured it would be.  I like the starting line there to make the entire front straight the holeshot.

Probably another Ishoel sweep but at least it will be an entertaining weekend.  Snow is almost gone here, mid 50s this weekend.

idk about Shovel on the hole shot, seems all the Doo's rocket out of the hole.  must be that traction device in the skid we haven't heard about since it debuted.  Schueering's sleds seem to consistently get the best dig from what I've seen.

I just hoping (and I am kidding myself) that it won't be a mud hole where we are at, but I know its coming. Good news is we dont have to tear down between weekends hahaha.

are they going to let you bring your prize winning hog this time?

Still a lot of work to get done on the track before tomorrow.  They were burying something under the finish line jump this afternoon.  Communication cables probably?

nope, they're obviously burying TextronCat's future - can you see the little sign that reads "If you don't be first - you B-Last"????

    :)
