  1. Since there are several variations of Ice Tracks out there - and since some tracks are proprietary to Doo/Poo I thought I'd start a thread and share my experience with one of them. Decided to give the 9201H Camso Ice Attak XT 128/15/1.22" 2.52P a try. single ply, fully clipped 42lbs and 272 sharp little pins. Multiple track lengths available. https://camso.co/en/powersports/snowmobile/products/ice-attak-xt/ Lugs are stout, track looks better far in person than it does on the Camso site. Sled is also getting DuPont Vespel slides and ice scratchers. Will report back and directly compare the good/bad to a studded Cobra 1.3 on a nearly identical sled once I get this other machine back up and running. Both sleds are ridden 99.9% on groomed trails so the basis of my expectations will be based upon that. Sort've excited, haven't bought a brand new track in ages.
  2. Note to self - never/ever buy a 2018/2019 C-Tech 8000 https://www.facebook.com/groups/700367290002634/permalink/3729062573799742/?comment_id=3731138493592150 You have the airbox all sealed up on yours, right @mnstang ?
  3. I hope we get some ridable snow here soon so I don't have to participate in the north of hwy 8 shit show. Glad to hear the bug didn't get you or the family. Since you work remote, where do you believe you picked it up?

  5. you got the Vid eh? here in northcentral Wisco (Marathon/Lincoln/Langlade) it's pretty thin and not looking promising. rivers, creeks and swamps aren't solidified at all - some lakes are being fished and some moron already dropped a vehicle in. looking at the 'map' it looks like there's only three counties that are relatively open. Snowmobile Trail Conditions | Wisconsin Snow Report | Travel Wisconsin I work just off the highway on 51/39 and saw a LOT of rigs with trailers and sleds heading north the past couple days, so it must be awfully crowded in NW Wisco and the UP. guess I'll be patient and wait until there's better snow and more people have dispersed to other areas to avoid the mayhem.
  6. congratulations and - was it the dude on FB? any thoughts on the replacement trail sled? RXC?
  7. a link to this was posted this evening, good reading. https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/1943306/2005-arctic-cat-race-school-seminar my favorite part...
  8. for the wife was... https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHBD_enUS737US737&nfpr=1&q=jalapeno+in+eye&spell=1&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiI5PP1oPftAhXEWc0KHWO8DbQQBSgAegQIEBAv&biw=1280&bih=657
  9. I have an excellent resource for this chassis... but it ain't me.
  10. beauty is only skin deep, but fat goes straight to the bone. one of my last posts on HCS was asking if anyone got one on a scale yet. so why won't TextronCat or Yammahana post the dry weight? that being said, good luck breaking the fat girl.
  11. I've been considering a dupe recently, do you think Sandy Vagina would sneak past the head of HCS sniff test?
  12. wtf? a few years ago I could have bought a dozen for $38 a buddy of mine and I were going to teach our teenage daughters a lesson... until I saw what people wanted for them. option 2, and old tv without a remote and rabbit ears. dad had two remote controls in the house, my brother and I. we used to keep a roll of aluminum foil on top the console tv to use during 'fine tuning'. kids, and adults are pussies today.
  13. what's better, getting lost and having fun on a Cat or staring at your Gayge every five minutes? that said, if Cat came out with a Gayge on a new sled (unlikely) I'd take option B. and go with a speedo/tach/coolant temp version but I'm old fashioned and navigate by common sense and realizing where I am, unless I'm riding near Merrill WI with Greg B. - then it's a fucking mess. if Steam Power hadn't gone out of fashion...
  14. repairs to the bottom of the cylinder that most of us can't do at home or work. cylinder skirt was broken off and sent into the crankcase, new cylinders are not available and these have been ported. the cure, finding someone capable/competent of repairing the existing cylinder and making it useable again. found that person. guy bleeds green and does high quality work.
  15. wtf otb? I was looking at the BuRP version just last night, BuRP sure is proud of anything they sell but their shit (other than an 800) seems to work. nice skid, still own it? mow the fucking lawn too slacker I'm less concerned with slide lubrication than I am with getting snow to the cooler. Slides are cheap, overheated engines - not so much. WTF is up with the orange snow flap man? your wife said it doesn't hang, dangle or even droop a little bit? Procross rails have more material to work with to dial in an ideal mounting location... must be nice. engine cool = good slides cool = bonus that's just a little bit gay... but still fairly gay.
  16. I need to add some to both my sleds for cooling peace of mind, but hate the thought of drilling into the rails. Have you tried Vespel Slides? AmazonSmile: Yamaha SMA-DPSSR-00-00 DuPont Slide: Automotive 2lapsdown said they last a lot longer and on lake races gained 1mph or more on the top end. They will fit your ZR but for a lot less... https://www.countrycat.com/arctic-cat/arctic-cat-6639-448-dupont-vespel-performance-wear-strip-sold-individually-121-146-inch

    650 owners

who's keeping the stock 22/36 gearing that's supposedly only good for 95mph but ideal for corner to corner trail riding? @racerdave? there's a reason the 650 does well in 1000 feet... but it isn't just the engine as some of the HCS morons are claiming a stock 600 XC/XCR runs 22/41 gearing and I bet either will top end these things with those gears
  18. I'm holding out for the long awaited Cummins Turbo Diesel from Cat - because heavier
  19. I knew I saw the SkiDoo setup in the past...
  20. it was the times man... lot of cocaine use in MN back then
  21. oops, the Y & U button are too close together have heard positive comments on the Polaris tablet...
  22. as much as I poke fun at the ride lite malarkey it's actually not the worst idea as it's intention is/was to keep riders hands on the handlebars. of course people have/can/will shoot holes in the system. another thing that's funny is when you come up on a group of slower riders and no matter if they have ride lites or are using hand signals, the guy in the back of the pack (unless he's actually paying attention) keeps giving oncoming riders the thumbs up for all clear. those make for interesting situations as well. again, awareness...
  23. one thing I've learned over the years... completely avoid riding in areas where snowmobile rentals are prevalent. those mf'ers are one stage beyond the drunken weekend warriors
