  1. Maybe she should've stuck to the plan to mail 13 million post cards: http://www.thepeterboroughexaminer.com/2016/12/06/privacy-watchdog-to-look-at-monsefs-electoral-reform-survey-amid-privacy-concerns
  2. I live in the riding & there is no way any thinking person would've voted for a condescending, window washer/kindergarten teacher/airhead full of airy fairy, pie in the sky ideas. On a side note: http://www.mykawartha.com/news-story/6995304-peterborough-police-arrest-suspects-in-saturday-s-pringle-murder/ This is less than a 5 minute walk from her constituency office.
  3. The media has been all over the stupidity of it. I had to laugh when there was a clip of Nathan Cullen of the NDP basically saying the "survey" insulted the intelligence of Canadians.
  4. Going to be oval races that day too. Hope to make it over.

    House build

My shop/garage is 24 x 44 divided so I'm only heating the shop (24 x 24). Today in the village.
  6. "It's the darling of the business world" But you didn't answer me about the shitty pay/benefits package. Maybe we should adopt Cuba's model where everyone from the Wallymart greeter to airline pilots get the same monthly salary?
  7. Anyone have experience w/ this outfit: http://ambashiengineering.ca/ They were in charge of the Hwy 28 resurfacing south of Apsley this year.
  8. Yes, but I bet there are people that are despondent that more than likely this whole exercise will be swept under the rug & Monsef will be shuffled out of Cabinet. The talking heads in the video can't see why this is so important when all it has caused them is grief & as Ibbotson said, 99% of the electorate couldn't care less about. If she can't handle this file, while is about all this Ministry is concerned w/, I doubt there are any other ministries she'd be capable of handling. How many female MPs were left out of the Cabinet to pick from for her replacement? Do transgendered (M>F) MPs count?
  9. Trail if you think I have a hate on her because she's female, that's not the case. Foster Brooks AKA Minister of Immigration McCallum is unfit for his job too.
  10. Does the average Wallymart employee work 40 hours? How do the benefits compare to the rest of the private sector? If you were to put in 30 years would you get a pension? Don't forget a lot of retail jobs (part time again) come & go for the Christmas season. Mind you this is all well & good because the all seeing Morneau has told younger people to get used to "job churn".
  11. I don't think the system should be changed, period. Why should a party that gets "X"% of the popular vote, but doesn't win a single seat, get "X"% of the seats in the house? Do we need more whackjobs like Elizabeth May in the house? IMO it's just an extension of the "Everyone gets a ribbon" mentality.
  12. That's what you get when you pick a "gender neutral" cabinet. Monsef would struggle to keep track of the office supplies the Liberals use. Contract work & three years as an "Administrative Assistant" @ Trent. No experience in gov't even @ the municipal level.
  13. But didn't your hero say that 2015 election would be the last using FPTP?
  14. Not a good week for the Window Washer http://www.cbc.ca/player/play/824391235803
  15. I can see it now, a rat line for kids to call Wynne & Murray to snitch on their parents. "My parents drive a big gas guzzling SUV". Didn't kids belonging to the Hitler Youth rat on neighbours?
  16. Dealing w/ mechanical engineers we gave up arguing w/ them & built to print. After a couple of days in use the tooling would be back in the shop for repair due to "underbuilding".
  17. As a tool & die maker I'd see LH & RH details weren't always just a "flipped" design. Easy to assume there was a mistake, but the print would have separate drawings. Most of the time a print would say, "RH shown, LH opposite"
  18. Are Maggie's panties for sale on Ebay?
  19. Probably no ball room since JT doesn't have any.
  20. Yep. They were held during the day when most people are working. Plus the usual left wing political junkies that figure the fringe parties deserve seats in the house even if they can't win a riding. No different that everyone gets a participation ribbon for showing up.
  21. I'd like to know the back story on this clusterfuck. Worker: "There's no holes in this section to pass the bolts thru to the adjoining sections." Foreman: "Get a cutting torch and blow some holes in it!" Worker: "OK" How in the world do you install something upside down? I seem to recall the bridge being almost completed then sat for months with one section above the 401 wrapped in plastic tarps. It was quite awhile before the bridge was opened to pedestrians.
  22. I would like to know how many people actually went to these town hall meetings. (Emphasis on bold)
  23. The window washer is on the hot seat today for her dismissive tone towards the election reform committee's recommendation. http://ipolitics.ca/2016/12/01/electoral-reform-committee-recommends-pr-referendum/
  24. I took the long road home from Port Perry Tuesday as I had some GPS waypoints I wanted to verify. There appears to be a "lodging" type building on the E side of 35 north of the Shaow Lake Rd (#53). No signage in the image on Google Streetview back in '12 & none now. I don't have a waypoint for it. Was it ever a motel? I have a "LODGING" waypoint from someone that corresponds to Camp Gayventure on the S side of Kash'. I stopped on CR 18 & there were signs for Williams Landing & Private Road, not too inviting On the northside of Kash' there were SOLD signs up @ Wild Moose Conference Centre & Spa/Wigamog. No lights on the place. Just down the road there's construction @ a place Silver Beach. Looks like a condo development from the 'net. Then a little bit further is Haliburton Heights. Looks like motel units. I don't have a listing or waypoint for this business. Is it new or another business renamed? If anyone familiar w/ the area, feel free to chime in. I haven't been over on the highways 46 & 48 area in years. I couldn't believe that my brother & I were that well behaved on the way to & from Kushog when we took that route sometimes. From Port to Coboconk seemed to take forever.
