  1. His remarks reaffirming Canada's commitment to Latvia were brutal. I think William Shatner could've done a better job.
  2. OK Sock Boy, which is it? WTF? This whole thing is way above the Window Washer's pay grade or abilities.
  3. What could Ottawa be hiding? I thought Justin promised an open and transparent government if elected?
  4. http://www.gisapplication.lrc.gov.on.ca/ForestFireInformationMap/index.html?site=AFFES_ONLine&viewer=AFFES_ONLINE
  5. The MNR is reporting a 2.7 hectare forest fire near Methuen Lake. Status is listed as Not Under Control. Wynnebag better get her garden hose out.
  6. Don't you know that minimum mandatory sentences don't work? I remember seeing a police van in Cleveland back in 2000 w/ this on the side: 1+1=5 I was puzzled until I got closer & could see this: 1 gun + 1 crime = 5 years
  7. Sounds about right. It all boils down to, "It's Whitey's fault!" I'm surprised Desmond Cole & Selwyn Pieters haven't commented on the 'black on black' violence, but that wouldn't fit their narrative.
  8. CP24 was talking to a chap w/ the surname Goodluck. Hard to understand his English, but I think he was suggesting more police presence would help curb the shootings.
  9. Another fatal shooting on Driftwood...
  10. Durham Region has transfer stations that accept pretty much anything (lumber, drywall etc). Mind you there is a nominal charge which must be excessive for some folks...
  11. A friend's parents lived across the street from a guy that inherited his parents' house & barely maintained the yard. The brush on the end of the driveway looks familiar. Drive home from work & see a pile of brush next door. After the idgit gets home from work (I'm unpacking my truck), he comes over & asks me where he could get rid of some brush north of Oshawa or Bowmanville. I asked him, "What?" Where could he dump it in the ridges. I lost it. I said it's private property and while mountain biking & sledding I'd seen all sorts of shit dumped out there, tires, cinder blocks drywall... "It's just brush", he repeats. "I don't care it's private property!" I had thought he was white trash before that exchange, but that just confirmed it.
  12. But making me register my Model 94 rifle will make Canada safer. Or the equally naive idea of making Toronto a gun free zone would make any difference. These gang bangers dont give a fuck about current laws so how would new laws change anything? Watching the news this year, youd almost think you're watching one of the Detroit stations on the dish.
  13. To quote my doctor when he was signing my FAC renewal back in the 90s' "We wouldn't need this if they hadn't let in all those Jamaicans". I just about fell out of my chair. He never even cracked jokes or was one for small talk. To hear him say something like this was a bigtime shock.
  14. But the reporter wrote an editorial about it? Macleans has an interesting article 'Kokanee Grope'. BBC covering it too.
  15. I saw this today, but have wondered myself if there is any truth to it? Who from Pt Hardy to Pembroke really cares... if Trump ate a corn dog @ the Iowa State Fair? who is his nomination for Secretary of Agriculture? who he picks as the next Supreme Court justice? Jackson Proskow should go back to covering Toronto City Hall... Stick to covering news from the US that actually impacts us. Until then a lot of it is filler.
  16. I think in this case it was Frank magazine that dredged up the incident. The reporter in question has been keeping a low profile.
  17. Actually he said if he had known she was with the national press, I guess writers for local papers are fair game... Yes the apology seemef pretty half-hearted & he's trying to avoid it right now. I havent heard back if my friend in Whitehorse is venturing up to Dawson to see him.

  19. Several items in the news about only 7 women in the Cabinet. Who really cares? The Shiny Pony set the bar pretty low for ministers, is that supposed to be the norm going forward? Picked for who they are, not their abilities?
  20. So you'd hire those contractors that got caught sparking 1 up beside the job site along Eglinton earlier this year?
  21. http://www.cbc.ca/news/opinion/trudeau-zero-tolerance-1.4723664 It doesn't matter it happened before he was a politician...
  22. Was that not involving a guy that was going thru a divorce & it was the soon to be ex that filed the complaint?
