That is a good read. California uses prisoners to fight wildfires for $2/day? Never knew that. So she did her good deed to keep the prisons full by pushing for cash bailouts, knowing all too well the people's familys were too poor to afford them, so they'd have to stay imprisoned and provide cheap labor to the govt. I'm not sure I have a problem with someone committing a crime and having to do some work while they're doing their time, but if they're being incarcerated for petty shit, and forced to do labor while the ones who put them there are pocketing kick back money from the state or govt., well then that's a fucking crime and they need to be thrown in and treated the same or better yet, even worse.
