irv
Why does the National Geographic, and others, keep spewing fake/fear mongering Global warming stories? Why not, if global warming is so real, just tell us the truth? This latest one is so full of falsehoods, just like their dying Polar bear story and others they tried to trick us with. I used to enjoy NG years ago but they have sadly become just another propaganda outlet. The natural leaching from this area has been happening for centuries. Indians used the bitumen to patch their canoes but yet, somehow, this is man's fault and man made?? Large quantities of oil has leached to the surface and has been carried down the Athabasca river for eons, and miles from the actual area, it has been leaching as well for as long as we have been on this earth. If anything, man is helping the environment by cleaning up this mess, not destroying it. Many cleaned up/recovered areas are now used by grazing animals and are homes to a lot of wildlife. If National Geographic stuck to its original agenda they used to use years ago, they would be talking about this rather than the opposite. https://business.financialpost.com/opinion/a-misleading-anti-oilsands-national-geographic-article-proves-to-be-so-very-wrong-about-science?fbclid=IwAR1piNd0EKaDKUs3l-JHJGL1a2MPnQ-wOXzDCNFTCnWQ86uHtBtEOlFAvjs https://www.nationalgeographic.com/environment/2019/04/alberta-canadas-tar-sands-is-growing-but-indigenous-people-fight-back/ https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/emaciated-polar-bear-response-1.4788259?fbclid=IwAR2epLmm9vs0hqwee5v6KTutGNpU3HN5SoviZtpMd5bhP5q8PXPoC3pdf5Y While I'm at it, why does the Global Alarmism movement have to use Celebrities or other well known outlets like the NG to try to get their message across? If it were real, as they try to lead us to believe, wouldn't the truth be right in front of our eyes? https://response.restoration.noaa.gov/oil-and-chemical-spills/oil-spills/what-are-natural-oil-seeps In the Gulf of Mexico, there are more than 600 natural oil seeps that leak between one and five million barrels of oil per year, equivalent to roughly 80,000 to 200,000 tonnes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petroleum_seep Edited May 29, 2019 by irv
