I know what some of our power plants PAID for gas this week and it definitely wasn't zero or less than.

I am not finding a lot of specific information on this.

I think there is a very localized issue as maybe the producers want to get rid of the gas to quickly shift focus to the more lucrative oil. Take a quick loss for bigger profits. Natural gas in the country is still far from free.

Oil is high so they keep on drilling.  Natural gas comes with the oil whether they want it or not.

I just picked up a 5 quart jug of pennzoil ultra platinum for $21. Made from natural gas. Cheapest I’ve ever paid. Best oil on the market.

Where was that at?  I bought some the other day that was around $25 for a 5 quart jug and I bought it in a 3 pack.

Use it in my wife's Ecoboost.  Think I went 10k on the last change.  Want to change it at more like 5k but get busy and lose track.

ya see, a snowmobile picture often contains a picture of the entire snowmobile.

Reminds me of the time I blew the bump stops apart on the rear suspension of @X2700 's XCR.

  4. You will see less and less diesels in the light and medium duty markets.  The emissions, cost, complexity, and reliability will push more of those applications to spark ignition engines.  Already seeing it with the Ford 7.3L gas and the new Cummins X10 fuel-agnostic platform.

    Quote

    ABOUT THE FUEL AGNOSTIC PLATFORM
The engine is built on Cummins’ fuel agnostic platform. These new fuel-agnostic engine platforms feature a series of engine versions that are derived from a common base engine, which means they have some parts commonality. Below the head gasket of each engine will largely have similar components and above the head gasket will have different components for different fuel types. Each engine version will operate using a different, single fuel.

Cummins is offering a full portfolio of products in 2026 to cover the medium-duty and heavy-duty customer needs, including the new 15-liter natural gas engine, the X15N. Additionally, the B6.7 will be offered in diesel, natural gas, gasoline and propane.

Setup --> Connections --> Data Usage --> Mobile data turn off.

My dad and uncle both had 4wd early 90s units, my dad sold his probably 10 years ago now but my uncle has his still. Sits next to the shed hardly ever moves but always starts first kick. I changed the oil for him a couple years ago and maybe half a quart came out, still runs like a top and doesn’t smoke a bit. I always had XRs growing up even when I had my CRs, we pulled an 82-84 XR 250 out of the woods behind my dads buddies house where it had sat for probably 15 years changed the oil cleaned the carb and fresh gas and rode it for years until a carney bought it when the county fair was in town. Saw that bike at the fair for 4 or 5 years after too 😂

Wish mine was 4wd.  It's only 2 wheel drive with turf tires.  Perfect for what I need it for now but wasn't worth a shit in the snow!

Honda fucked themselves building the Fourtrax 300, anyone who bought one of those will never have to buy another 4 wheeler in their lifetime.

In all reality almost everyone knows someone with a fourtrax that has been neglected for the last 30 years and still runs like a top, arguably the greatest off road product ever built.

Ours lived a hard life, sat outside most of the time.  I used it for years around my property before buying a new Rancher.

I have 3 machines now, 88 Fourtrax 300 2x4, 2020 Rancher 420 4x4 solid axle, and a 2023 Sportsman 850.  When I need to drag my driveway, spray weeds, fertilize, or aerate the lawn, guess which one I pick?

Since I have the Sportsman now, this trailer is permanently hooked up to the Rancher.  The sprayer stays on my Fourtrax now.

  8. There is a big difference for viability of electric/battery powered equipment.  Short use or easy to change batteries, sure.

I don't use a sled or pwc for 30 minutes at a time.  A lot of times on sleds we have a whole tank of fuel burned by 10 AM and are out for 8+ hours.   Cordless tools are intermittent use, even for contractors, and the batteries are easily replaceable and don't require special charging infrastructure.  Electric would be better suited for applications like ATVs or UTVs that are used around a business or farm.  Sleds maybe for places like ski resorts but that's a real limited market.

My next commuter car will probably be a Tesla but I'm only going ~70 miles round trip usually.  All wheel drive and I park in my garage right next to the electrical panel.  No more stopping every week for gas, just plug it in when I get home and charge at off-peak rates overnight.

You had one, too?  I'm a retired Chief, and one of my predecessors was able to get out from under a business that was losing money when a fire conveniently gutted it.

One of my regional fire school seminars was taught by Jamie Novak, a very respected fire investigator.  I think that was the most interesting class I ever had as a firefighter.

One day of the class was all classroom.  As we were in class, the local fire department was at an old farmhouse, setting each room on fire using a different method.  The next day, we had to go to the house and figure out how each room started.  In my assigned room, it was just charred remains.  Jamie suggested that we wash down the room with water from a fire truck conveniently located just outside.  Once we did that, the pattern of a liquid accelerator was clearly visible on the floor, and we were able to piece together what happened without any further assistance.  After we'd covered all of the rooms, we went back to the classroom where he showed us video of each fire.

I learned so much from Jamie, that was a great experience.  After that, I've been to several fires that made me suspicious and where we called the state to investigate.  Arson is a lot more common than people realize, especially when money is somehow involved.

A few years back the bowling alley in St Peter, MN burned down.  It was all over the local news that morning.  We had good snow that year and the trail went right by there so I made a quick spin down there to investigate.  It was easy to park in the ditch and watch from a distance on a sled.

Ended up talking with the owner (who set the fire) and his former partner (who wanted out) while they were still putting out the fire.  I felt really bad for them, total loss.  Then on the news later it came out he actually started the fire.  It's crazy what people are capable of where you or I or any normal person would never even think to do that.

Selders also was ordered to pay almost $77,000 in restitution. Nearly $73,000 will go to the city of St. Peter, which removed the burned debris from the property.

Selders co-owned KingPins with a woman who had ended her romantic relationship with Selders and told him she wanted out of the business a few days before the fire, according to court documents.

Being willing and bold enough to get your ass up and move to an area with opportunity is another piece of advice. There might be a few people that can make a go of it in their comfy hometown, but for the majority of us who find success, we needed to relocate. I certainly did.

Yup, where I grew up there were pretty limited opportunities outside of ag.  The only ones making money there were the ones who actually ran the operation.

Thankfully, I'm in the position now where I can do more work remotely.   Between traveling and work from home I don't spend that much time in my office at headquarters.

More like they can’t find a place to live in Florida or afford it!!!

When I was in Destin in January you couldn't go anywhere without tripping over a for sale sign.  Lots of stuff for sale, people just don't like the price.  Housing prices along with insurance costs have gone way up in Florida.  That's if you can even get insurance.

This is an excellent question. Who would want to buy any turbo 2 stroke once the warranty is over and the sled has 5000 miles on it? Noooooobody!!!!!! Built a 2025 boost 137 dynamix for 30,328.00 canadian tire money. What will it be worth on year # 3?

Regardless of mileage.  That 9R could have 50 miles on it and outside of warranty I wouldn't want anything to do with it.
